Session 7: WIld Antics Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 7: WIld Antics

General Summary

With us looking out over grassy plains as far as the eye can see, we decide to go crawling back through the caves to find the treasure we very obviously missed. The prisoners obviously don’t want to go back in there, but thanks to some lovely coaxing via me pointing my bow and arrow at their backs and TT goading them on, we get them moving through with us. They accuse us of taking them prisoner now and while we desperately tried to convince them that they were all just indentured servants and special buddies, they weren’t buying our bullshit. As we pick Owkbanok from the ship, we throw our special buddies in the brig because we don’t want them to get hurt and it’s totally not because we don’t trust them or something.     Back in the tunnels, Amelia and Owkbanok overhear some kobolds talking about jumping us so we decide to thwart their plan by jumping them instead. It works out for none of our groups, so we storm their living area and trigger the most heartbreaking scene in this campaign so far. After I murder a ranger’s slurk, Amelia raises it from the dead to be her companion for the time being and orders it to kill its master. This poor kobold is basically being mentally and emotionally tortured at this point. He’s bull rushed by the zombie in a depressing chain of events I had to go and start and up until now, the kobold was assuming his companion was coming back to him. As he’s trampled, he’s in tears and a broken man and is basically mauled to death.     After this brutal, heartbreaking display, we decide to ignore the consequences of our sins breathing down our necks; and set some dogs on fire. With everything taken care of, we press on further until me and Owkbanok are tasked with scouting ahead. All we find is a door with ominous, purple fog coming out from under it. He can hear chanting about the finest of feasts to come and I reluctantly peek inside after we tell each other how we’re gonna die here together and see five kobolds chatting with a purple wyvern. So being the manly men we are, we nope the fuck out of there and return to the others. With so many treasures and ship parts being in the room, conquering and killing the wyvern is the best option, but not all of us are on board. After me and TT suggest using the prisoners as “sacrifices”, Owkbanok isn’t having any of it and goes back to the ship.     The rest of return later to discuss what we’re gonna do and we decide to face off against a wyvern. I tell the captain if we’re not back in two days, expect the worst and leave. Come morning, we set back off into the caves minus Owkbanok. We load up the zombie slurk with nightshade berries, hoping the dragon will eat it, but once we get into the fray, shit goes south fast. We grossly overestimated our chances against a wyvern of all things. Amelia gets blinded and fucked up, TT can’t hit the thing no matter how hard she tries, and Tonari gets himself trapped in its maws and goes unconscious. So I shoot it in the eye, rushing out to grab him as he falls so he doesn’t die on impact, and take him back to cover. Once there, I feed him a healing potion and we get to share an absolutely gay moment with him waking up and cradled in my arms. But there’s no time for love on the battlefield, so we finally turn the fight around in our favor.     With one more arrow and a lot of quiet panicking on my part, I manage to get the killing blow. So we walked away from this fight with treasures galore, but also a small friend named Antic. He’s a kobold mage of some sort and we all accept him into our crew with open arms. He is this party’s son now and if anything happens to him, we’ll riot. With a wyvern skeleton and some parts from it to sell, Amelia says she knows a guy who collects all things dragon related, so we set sail to the kingdom he’s located in. I then go and tell my captain that our current ship pilot kind of sucks at her job and he asks if I can do better, so I give it a go. TT doesn’t have much confidence, but I manage to steer our ship out of Shipwreck Coast without it sustaining anymore damage and with that, I just stole the pilot’s job. Trust me, she’s not happy about it. But we made up…and then ruined it when her and TT get into a fight and I pretend as if I saw nothing.     After a week of sailing, we reach a smaller continent to stop and sell some goods. TT has some blank pardon papers to sell, so we ask around to see if we can find out if this town has any sort of black market or something of the likes. We’re told to come back to a shady bar in the evening and look for a man named Larson, who has red hair and one red eye. With that, we check out the caravans outside of town and hawk off some of our goods. Peasant children flock to us, knowing we have money and while we manage to resist and rudely turn them down, I eventually cave and give the kids food before telling them to get lost. And so we make our way back into the town, waiting for this mysterious man.
