The Iron Company
History
The Iron Company is a mercenary company based out of Mivon, run by House Ferreis. It has historically been used in battles by Mivon against the armies of Pitax in their ongoing border dispute.Approximately 2 years ago, a large section of the company was wiped out after an ambush they have started calling "Battle on the crumbling bridge". The Iron Company had been hired to destroy a Pitaxian foundry producing arms and armour. They entered pitax and crossed a bridge over the Pitax River that started collapsing as they crossed. Believing they were safe they pressed forward, however the armies of Pitax laid in wait and destroyed the bridge after they crossed then attacked the company. Forced with their backs against pitax river, the only survivors were those that braved the river by jumping in and swimming back. Most died or were presumed captured by Pitax but have not been seen since. The general membership of the remaining company blamed Keleria's father who was leading the company at the time. Nearly all the survivors left to others companies.
Size
Historically, the company was the size of approximately 300, spread into several groups. After the defeat at the "Battle on the crumbling bridge" and the subsiquent abandonment by most of the mercenaries the company was only left with approximately 10 members, most of whom were direct members or supporters of House Ferreis.Leadership
Kaleria "Ironclaw" Ferreis
Keleria is an aldori duelist who uses an armored glove for her fighting style. She leads the Iron Company and is the eldest daughter of Claren Ferreis, the current head of House Ferreis. While money to repay the debts incurred by the Iron company is her main motivation, she does not want to do so at the cost of the Iron Company's reputation. Keleria's company was approached by Dovan from Nisroch, a subordinate of the Stag Lord, to secure transport for convoys from the Stag lord's fort through Mivon. Later on, this expanded to finding magical artefacts from ruins in the forests of the Stolen Lands and Dovan send some members of the Stag Lord's crew to assist. Keleria had thought that Stag Lord was acting as a informal lord of the people living in the Stolen lands, trading items in exchange for security, but she admits she was more focused on the money she desperately needed instead of researching the Stag Lord properly.
