Plaquit Mine

This mine was once a thriving silver mine, giving Frost's Edge a good source of income. Unfortunately, this made the mine attractive to many species of the Lightless Realm and the mine was attacked by duergar and destroyed. After the dust had settled, the duergar returned to their realm deeper in the mountain and the upper level of the mine was eventually settled by fungus leshy. The mine was sealed by the few survivors, a handful of gnomes, who blocked the entrance to the mine and left warnings in gnomish on the rocks that covered the mine's entrance.   Unlike most of the rest of Mordau the mines are actually quite warm thanks to a series of geothermal vents that run throughout much of the mines. Many were capped off but over the nearly three centuries of disuse, some of them have opened back up and can create dangerous areas. The ruins of the mine sit on a slope some 40 feet down the side of the mountain, nearly underneath Banshee Bridge . There once was a series of wooden elevators and ramps to help make pulling ores and moving people more simple, but that wood was taken and used in the building of the Banshee Wagons rail system.
