Banshee Wagons

Banshee wagons are steel monstrosities that move on wheels along tracks. These roughly cylindrical workhorses bellow out smoke and wail like their namesakes through the day and night, powered by great furnaces which burn coal and other combustibles, pulling behind it a variable number of wheeled platforms, troop barracks and supply containers. Tracks, similar to mining cart tracks though larger, cross the countryside, particularly in the Summerlands and Redlands , setting up supply lines between various outposts and cities. Capable of moving at nearly unheard of speeds, banshee wagons can deliver massive amounts of troops to locations quickly.   Banshee wagons have Speed 80.   (Trains...they're trains...)

Fighting on top of Banshee Wagons

It is possible...nay, required!...that fights will break out on top of a moving Bahshee wagon. While a ride on a banshee wagon is never what one would call smooth as the cars clack along the track and make jerky movements, this is exaggerated when on top of the banshee wagon cars. Between the wind and motion of the cars, moving along the top of the train should be considered uneven ground with a Level 0 Balance check required to move. On a Critical Failure on this Balance check, you Fall From the Train (see below).   A typical car is only about 15 feet wide, so it is possible to Push someone from the top of a train relatively easy. See Fall From the Train.

Fall From the Train

If you fall or are pushed form the top of a banshee wagon car it can deal some pretty nasty damage due to the speed of the banshee wagon. In addition, there's a good chance that you will be left behind. Between the momentum, travel speed and rough landing, falling from a banshee wagon deals 40 points of bludgeoning damage. There are numerous handholds and small ladders to grab onto so a falling target can Grab a Ledge with a DC of 15. Success reduces the damage to 20 but the character caught one of the side ladders and is 20 feet from the point at which they fell, the train having continued to move on. On a critical success they take only 10 damage, but manage to catch themselves on the edge of the train roof and did not "move" from the point at which they fell.

On-Rails Banshee Wagons follow rails to get to where they need to be. Banshee Wagons *can* be piloted for short distances if they go off their rails, but the vehicle is always considered to be Uncontrolled if not on rails and is very likely to crash as a result.
In Galarion Banshee wagons are not available in Golarion
