Terra Ignis Organization in Pathfinder 2e Project | World Anvil

Terra Ignis

Terra Ignis, also called the World Burning, or "The Phoenix Organization", is a global anarchist organization that has existed for many centuries in the Old World but has only gained immense prominence in the modern industrial age. Throughout history, Terra Ignis has acted as some form of "boogeyman", a tool by the people to try and attempt some form of control or fear against the vastly powerful and hierarchically almighty imperial rulers of the Old World. And while Terra Ignis has existed, it has preferred to remain largely in the shadows and only really appear through rare incidents such as poisonings of emperors or during times of war.Terra Ignis' has only one real goal, which it hopes to invite all people to become involved, and that is to see the end of the Old World's Grand Cycle and embrace the true nature of the world - chaos and mayhem. They see the "Order" granted by civilization as a mask that hides the true nature of all things, a cold and uncaring world. They do not care about what systems of government arise afterward, only that the old system is destroyed and dashed away. To see the old laws burned away in a bonfire of chaos and disorder. Because of this, often times, Terra Ignis is often seen not as wholly one entity but rather as hundreds of individual organizations acting in their own way to promote chaos. This has made it hard for any one state to handle these threats alone.Besides that, very few states have any real systems in place to stop them from acting, as they often act outside of predictable patterns and have ways to charm, enchant, and cast illusions that hide. They also are charismatic recruits, with only the staunchest of loyalists being seemingly immune from their charms. Terra Ignis is currently led by the enigmatic figure known as Father Ignacio, a priest and former Saint who corrupted himself as a Lich to continue his will and ensure that his organization has existed as long as it has. Not only that, but it is believed that some, if not most of his most powerful agents are granted powers from him as rewards for their loyalty.
