Mynavares Settlement in Pathfinder 2e Project | World Anvil

Mynavares (Min-ah-wahr-ez)

Mynavares is the largest and most populous city in all the Old World, and the second oldest next to the Ruined City of Lyr. It serves as the capital of the Aedrian Empire, the greatest power in the world and is the beating industrial heart of the new revolution.

Government

Mynavares, while acting as the center of the Aedrian Empire, is ruled by more than simply its empress. The city itself is ruled by an autocratic aristocracy which maintain their power by being shrouded in mystery. The City Chancellory is a council, made of many individuals who hide their true name behind masks and falsehoods. Often going by names given to reflect their contributions to the city. I.E. "Mr. Irons", "Mrs. Blood", "Mx. Rails".   These individuals hold meetings every other weekday with them taking the last three days of the week off. They operate the city through their series of factions and helpers, each using agents to keep order and control. The city itself, while possessing a strong police force, often relies on more cutthroat and murderous practices to ensure obediance. It is often joked that the red carpet in Chancellery Hall is not a carpet, but their most recent victim and the staff haven't had the time to clean yet.

Infrastructure

The River Var
The banks of the River Var are less pebbles and stones, and more a collection of weathered bone charms and stone runes from long gone kingdoms before. Among the collection of bridges that cross its waters, one can see the stone foundations and ruined structures of constructions lost to time, making the river treacherous to sailing vessels at certain points. On either side are tall, aged stone and earthenworks which control the river's unpredictable nature and raging floods.   The river is also home to a series of dockyards, shipyards, warehouses, and factories which circle small concaves cut from the banks. Here trucks and carriages keep the ever-beating logistical heart of the city beating. Where trucks and cars can't reach, railways cross over bridges and dock entrances.   It is not uncommon for these industries, warehouses, and even houses to toss their refuse into the water, making the edges coated in broken crates, blood and guts, and other horrid smells and objects. Because of this, the river's color changes once it enters Mynavares, going from a pale greenish-blue to a dark copper red color.
