Aedrian Ethnicity in Pathfinder 2e Project | World Anvil

Aedrian

The Aedrian Empire is the largest and most diverse culture in the world. Originally one of the oldest cultures in the world, Aedria's history was largely isolationist as they sat unopposed on the Storm Chain for centuries. This was largely due to the Arcanic Superstorms that plagued the world every year that made it impossible for most nations to cross the channel to invade them.Aedria was, throughout most of history, a relatively small and unimpressive power that relied heavily on agrarianism and feudal lords that were spread out over multiple different provinces and small kingdoms across the Storm Chain. However, this all changed during the War of the Three Crowns, when these kingdoms not only amalgamate their powers over other kingdoms but the three most successful would go to war.The war ended with the crowning of King Corvanum I of Aedria and the Empire began a massive infrastructure change with the creation of new roads, buildings, etc and the creation of a modern military and navy, as many had witnessed that their sea channel was slowly becoming conquered by neighboring states. Following this modification, wars would break out against the island Kingdom of Aedria that would allow them to gain land on the main continent, take over the home of the Dwarven Empire, and begin sailing around the world with little resistance. Aedria also, during this time, was experimenting with the mysterious substance of godsblood that had been discovered and attempting to utilize it fields such as arcane improvement, fuel, and weaponization.By the 1700s, Aedrian Empire controlled the world's waterways and its military was practically unmatched in the field of battle. It also possessed many colonies around the world, including Setica and Eros which allowed it to gather numerous new and unheard of resources that fueled the empire. Today, even after the revolutions in Eros and the loss to the Seticans, Aedria remains a powerful empire and its culture is still respected as the greatest, despite the slowly emerging decline in the Empire.
