warforged

Several stories of the world feature warforged, but most common folk have never actually seen one. Most people assume they are like living statues (as the closest analogue they might have seen in their daily lives). The stories they inhabit usually characterize warforged as being steadfast and hard to corrupt, if a bit rigid and inscrutable.
Since most common people are not convinced they actually exist, no one is aware of how warforged were originally created or for what purpose (and the stories that are told don't seem to address this).
