Creatures from a parallel plane, the fae are a collection of races that have ties to nature but are more wild and unpredictable than most races on the primary plane. There are legends and stories that involve the fae, usually where some mortal creature makes a bargain with them, insults them, or does them a favor. Often these tales have unfortunate or unexpected endings.
Very few people in the current day have any solid dealings with the fae; the stories and tales about them are exclusively set in the distant past. It's not immediately clear if The Calamity had some effect on the fae, but they are not in immediate evidence in most of the world.
