Island Areas

Castle City.
The main island houses the royal Castle of the Golden Kingdom and its surrounding city and

countryside. Rolling hills and a small Lake are present outside of the City walls. Home to the Queen.

Laniryu Provence:
An island whose dominating feature is a lake and rivers with a massive waterfall where the mountain range surrounds the primary settlement. Home to Lady Rutina, a Mermaid minister.

Kiroriko Provence:
Home to a hilly and mountainous region with good farming and two small settlements of Kiroriko, home to Lady Imapa and Hinato, home of the Royal Science Academy.

Firon Provence:
A legendary forest with fae creatures is the dominating feature here. Legends speak of a mysterious temple hidden within the woods. Tentatively ruled over by a fae creature named Sarine.

Volcano Provence:
The major dominating feature of the province is the massive volcano and attending mountain range that completely takes up the island. Home to a silicon-based people ruled by Minister Goroto.

The Desert:
Only partially explored by Parhelion Incorporated. Home to mysterious structures in the endless desert and badlands whose purpose has yet to be divined. No ruler present. Nomadic tribes of warrior amazons are also rumored to be present, but unconfirmed. MANY monsters and wild creatures were found. All the rest is unknown.

Government

Government type: Monarchy with supporting Ministers.
Government Alignment: Neutral Good to True Neutral.

Each island is connected to the primary hub of Castle City by its own internal Rail Network. Royal trains are not allowed on Parhelion rail systems and vice versa. The exchange station is situated within Castle City, the first stop for any visiting adventurer.

All provinces are behind in development compared to most of the rest of the islands in the Maelstrom. Magic is strong here, but very few people study it. Most get by with Renaissance-era equipment or earlier. Bows are common, as are cannons within the Royal Army. There is no Royal Navy to speak of as the islands appear to be landlocked in their native environs.
