Sunset Raider Armband

The armbands are the brightest thing that Commander Alcott remembers from the attack of Helenskep from the Pirate Kings. The boats and clothing varied, but the bright purple armbands were worn by all the pirates forming the blockade were striking. The only purple cloth Alcott knew of was the coats of Parcadia naval capitans over the years. Hundred and hundreds of pirates, wearing purple that had come from the coats of missing friends.

During the Attack of the Pirate Kings on the pre-City settlement of Helenskep, the maurading Sunset Pirates identified themselves as allies with purple armbands on their left arms. Numerous western groups had allied together to strike against Helenskep. To ensure their combined powers, the leaders of the different groups met together to trade stories, powers, and intelligence. A ritual of unknown origin was held to bind the groups together, based on the repurposing of clothing of defeated enemies.
Single armbands have a small runemark on them to pair them to the leader of their group. Double armbands represent the leader of smaller groups, and triple armbands are the equivalent of a Parcadia Admiral, or the colliqual "Pirate King".
Based on the stories of Commodore Alcott and other survivors, there is a link between those who wear the purple armband, as their ship manovers had no visible communication between the ships. As purple dyes can only be created from plants that have grown around Parcadian Nodes close to large bodies of water, lower naval crew is demotivated that so many people are wearing so much purple fabric.
Commander Alcott could not outmanuver the combined link between the Pirate Kings to end the blockade, and had to call in the Parcadian Navy to break the blockade. The Naval leaders could not determine what the supposed "link" was between the rival crew members, and said that Alcott's stories were rumours and superstition.
