Severance
Severance is a process in which the ties of a creature or an item to a magical source is severed. It can happen in one of two ways.
The first is when the magical source is destroyed or somehow rendered inactive. Usually when a magical source is destroyed, the effects on the subject are similar to when the source is rendered inactive, It loses it's magical properties and turns back to it's core. In rare occasions where The core is the magical source itself, the object will be destroyed I a manner that differs according to the objects nature. Usually it can be remedied by either re-rendering the magical source active or by assigning it a new one.
The second is when The great Barrier is it's strongest , ie during a lunar eclipse, and an item or a creature is in the alternate world to their original. The effects of the severance in this case differ between cases. Some would lose their powers, some would lose the effects that the magic had on them, and some would simply cease to exist. No matter the effect, it is permanent and irreversible even if the subject were return to their original world. The effect differs according to the nature of the subject and the extent of the effect the magic has on it.
