Paradigm

Someone once told me that we tell only the stories that are memorable, the stories that have novel experiences and interesting conclusions. It wasn't until much later in my life that I understood what that stranger meant. We may consider life mundane, and ask ourselves why our stories and recorded histories always seem so more interesting than the ones we live ourselves, but that is a self-fulfilling prophecy. We tell the stories that are interesting, that draw others to listen. They must be memorable. Coincidence or fantastic happenstance is beside the point.   Welcome, then, to Paradigm. A world born like any other on its journey hurtling through space, with inhabitants and places like no other. Here, we tell the stories of the Donarii, people so named for their extraordinary lives and feats of accomplishment. You could say that Paradigm exists solely for the telling of these stories, or that these people are what make Paradigm whole. Without them, the planet is just another hunk of rock with a smattering of life and resources, destined to end as all things do.   But for the inhabitants creation-side, on Paradigm's surface, each rise of the three suns, each night watched over by the moon Vergi is another day to experience. We may only tell stories of the fantastic, but Paradigm holds so much more than the typical pattern of climax and resolution.   My friends, I invite you to see this world as I have, as a new place to explore full of people to meet and experiences to be had.
