sea cows

sea cows is a semi-aquatic group of mammal species that live along the coastlines of Lenuria. Sea cows live in large groups similar to how hippos do.

Description

Sea cows resemble hippos in terms of body shape. They have thick legs that have wide feet on the ends that can paddle it through the water and allow it to walk on land. sea cows have forward facing tusks on the inside of both the top and bottom of their mouths and they use these to fight over mates and to fight off predators, and to pull up plants off of rocks to eat them.

Habitat

Sea cows can handle a variety of water temperatures. They live as far north as northern West Lenuria and as far south as the southern coasts of south Lenuria. The sea cows that live in the ocean are known as saltwater sea cows and are larger, and the ones that live in rivers and swamps are smaller and are called freshwater sea cows. Sea cows spend almost all of their time in water and can hold their breath for hours, but are capable of walking onto land although they are very sluggish there.

Saltwater sea cows are the largest species of sea cows, they are the largest species of sea cows at about 30 feet long (9.1 m) and 14 feet (4.3 m) tall on average. Sea sea cows live in coastal waters at about 45 m deep at the maximum and can be found as far north as northern West Lenuria and the coasts of southern south Lenuria.

Freshwater sea cows are sea cows that live in rivers and freshwater lakes. Freshwater sea cows are smaller than their ocean dwelling relatives at 20 feet (6.1 m) long and 9.8 feet (3 m) tall. Freshwater sea cows are found in the greatest numbers in the large rivers and lakes of south Lenuria, and the second largest population is in the rivers of West Lenuria.

Diet

Sea cows feed on sea plants but mostly on oceanic moss found on rocks. They use their tusks to scrape the moss off of rocks, and then suck them into their mouths.
