Primrose Ashblossom
Primrose was born into a relatively higher class family of entertainers in the town of Waking Sands. She learned to play music and dance from her parents and got a guitar passed down from her grandparents. Living in a trading town and resting place for travelers she and her family made a comfortable living off performing for merchants and other weary travelers.
Primrose had always wondered about the significance of her heirloom guitar, which predated the haze and was decorated in a way showing that it belonged to an important person or family. She looked into a lot of literature at the town library, but didn't find any clues. When Primrose was 19 she set out on a journey to try and finally find out about her heritage. She has now been traveling for 5 years and while not yet finding many clues she has cultivated quite an information network already.
She has now met the rest of the party while traveling with a caravan through Jermaria.

She would really like to avoid meeting him in the future, though she kept the decorated fan he gifted her.

Session 3
We wake up in Campfire. We get ready to leave for Driftwood together with Chloë. I try to get some food from the filthy rat man, but he doesn’t want to give me anything acceptable. I go to the market where I use my charms to convince a halfling merchant to give me a lower price and one extra day of rations. I now have 6 days of rations. When we are about to leave a halfling runs up to Chloë and stops her to give her a piece of paper. Chloë shows me the piece of paper and it seems to be related to the book we are looking for, written on the paper seems to be a riddle. The riddle reads “Fire light, Fire bright. Guide this traveler to the other side. from your petals strewn and scattered. On these bones of stories be they collected”. Switz threw a severed arm into the firepit. Azraël tries to pull the bones that are left out of the fire and burns his hand. Switz tries to throw Ricardo the rat into the fire, he fails. He tries again and I command him to stop, which he does. I try to burn the riddle paper using the chromatic rose and it lights on fire. A flash of fire and petals burst out from the fire and a man with a fox comes out. Chloë looks at us with a very smug look. The mysterious man stands up and the fox jumps on his head. I introduce myself to him and he introduces himself as James and his fox is named Layla. I ask him if he knows about the dorf brothers and he says no. He says he’s from the Feywild, but I don’t know what this place is, he says it’s another plane of existence. We ask him if he wants to join us, which he does, and decide it’s time to leave. We head out for driftwood.
We walk into a large open plains area. We reach a crossing and decide to set up camp a bit away from the path. I take a guard shift together with Lyvia. We take a long rest. During our shift we see a few carriages pass and a lone wolf. It’s very close to us, so I decide to wake the others. Lyvia scares off the wolf. I and James do a perimeter check and find out that they left. I go to sleep at the end of my shift. I wake up to the sound of a fire blast. I see a flaming fox-like shape gliding towards Switz, who is above James, he gets bitten and seems like he is in pain. I and Azraël go off against him and I tell him that if he pulls any of his bullshit ever again I’m going to make sure he’s dead. We go to sleep again and I wake up pretty pissed off still. Azraël gives me some coffee. I give James some food.
Chloë says we have two roads we can go down, one is through the feral forest, which is dangerous, or the main road. I vote to pick the main road, which we do. We enter a stone road. Along the road we see campfire smoke. Switz says there are people at the campfire. We decide to sneakily head towards the campfire. Several people go to stake out the camp. There are 6 people around the campfire, they are definitely armed.
I use minor illusion to ask if they’re friendly and introduce myself as John Johnson, when I come out of hiding I disguise myself as John Johnson. They are a friendly organisation and worship the god Lethandor. He is the god of dawn. They seem very pissed off when Chloë mentions the name the flashbangs. I work together with James to catch 4 bandits in a blast of faerie fire, affecting 2 of them. Chloë hits both of them with an Eldritch blast. Chloë gets hit with an arrow and reacts by nearly obliterating a bandit. Lyvia shoots one of the bandits with an arrow and kills them. Switz shoots a bandit near me and breaks their jaw. After this he gets hit with a tendril like object, it is fair to say he is out of commission. Ylva nails one of the bandits in the eye with a dagger and kills him. Azraël crushes one of the bandits with manipulate gravity. I do a sick flip to jump onto a cart and nail a bandit in the nuts with the handle of my thrown dagger, he falls unconscious from how cool I am (or maybe just the pain). The last bandit gets nailed by several beams of energy from Chloë, he dies.
Combat ends and I go to pick up my dagger. Chloë walks up to the unconscious bandit as well and Switz asks her if she is evil, which she says is a matter of perspective. Switz goes to put some of the flattened bandit into a container, I am disgusted and throw up. Chloë interrogates the last bandit, he says he won’t answer to heretics. Me and Azraël threaten him and successfully intimidate him. He says that the people taken back to their base should be honored by the task they would be given.

Azraël asks what the task he talked about is, he says that their hands will hold up the heavens. While Switz starts rambling about slavery he gets launched by something random. While Chloë continues her interrogation, the bandit spits her in the face. I ask him if he knows anything about the emblem on my guitar, in return for letting him live. He says he doesn’t know anything. After this Chloë kills him. We look around the camp for loot. I take a Scimitar and 2 days of rations with me, but find nothing of note besides this. After looting we decide to continue our journey to Driftwood. While traveling toward Driftwood we hear several explosions which are near some strange hills. There are craters with plants in them, we decide not to go there. We take a long rest during our journey. When approaching Driftwood the roads get very busy, we see a massive stone wall and see a gate. We enter the gates and Chloë takes me with her because she knows where to go, James and Switz follow us. The rest follows slowly behind. We move through the mazelike alleyways of the city and arrive at a book shop named Immites Anguis, it appears to be closed, but there is light inside. Chloë seems disappointed. I tell Chloë we can come back tomorrow, since it’s evening. She agrees and Chloë asks where the remaining two are after seeing the twins. We find out we lost them, Chloë and I don’t even seem surprised. Chloë finds them and she takes us to a place where we can rest, as a thank you for helping her.
We enter an area with lots of rats with scrolls on their backs. We enter an inn and smell stuff like spices and stuff, it seems like the first decent accommodation we’ve had so far. An old woman greets us and talks a bit with Chloë, she asks if we can stay for discount. She seems to agree. We also see a Tressym on the counter. The old lady introduces herself as Gertrude Blackmold to us and we introduce ourselves as well. A disembodied hand is walking around the inn and takes a suitcase up the stairs. Chloë says we might have to do some chores for Gertrude for a cheaper price, but we’ll be able to stay here and go to the book shop tomorrow. We go upstairs to our rooms and decide to do further introductions tomorrow. The room looks very nice and tidy.

We start while moving towards campfire. We leave the forest and see 2 entrances to Campfire. We pick the dirt road. Roderick tells us not to touch the wall, because the wall is made of broken stuff, maybe including potion bottles, so touching it would pose a significant risk. Chit coats some darts in the goop and checks if it is combustible. Roderick runs off the moment we walk through the gate. We spot one of the carriages that was in our caravan. We see a female tiefling called Liara Nightshade tackle Roderick and hugs him while crying. She gets up to talk to us and says it’s good to see us again. We greet her and she introduces herself to Switz. While Roderick and Liara walk off Switz interrupts them by diving in between them and asking what their relationship is, subtle as a brick. Chit starts searching for a merchant to buy his ores. We see a wounded dwarf with red hair called Grom Hammerstone in a tent. We also see a young wood elf with brown hair tending to him called Elara Leafwhisper. I help out by curing Grom’s wounds with the spell cure wounds.
Marcus Swiftbrook, the leader of the caravan, walks up to Roderick and pats him on the shoulder, it seems like he was wounded quite a bit. He greets us by saying it’s good that we survived. Roderick starts to explain what happened. Marcus also tells us what happened to his carriage and the middle one. He asks us to go back with him to the place where the attack happened to search for the missing people the day after, for a reward. We accept. We decide to spend the rest of the day by walking towards the market. Roderick also warns us that we really SHOULD NOT STEAL here.
I start looking for an antiques salesman, but am stopped by Quinton Wellmet, fat middle aged man who has ordered a lot of food. He is a food critic that travels around the continent to try out different types of food. I have met him a few times earlier at taverns. I ask him for some information about antiques, he says there is one person around here who might know some stuff. I catch up with him on some stuff that happened in the past while. He gives me some food on the house, so I sit down and eat with him. He asks me about delicacies in my homeland, I tell him that there are many dishes with many spices and many types of coffee. I also advise him to visit the tavern The Prancing Pony in at Waking Sands. I continue eating and talking with him before leaving to check on the market.
Azrael walks up to us and starts talking to us, I introduce him to Quinton and he joins us at the table. They start having a conversation about coffee. I join them and talk a bit about southern coffee, which includes some very expensive coffee cherries that are processed by being eaten by tressym and pooped out, they are very sought after for their unique flavour. They continue their conversation and Azrael tries out some coffee, he buys some beans and he gets a discount because he’s friends with me.
Chit runs up to us. He pretty much dives into the coffee at Quinton’s stall. He starts talking with Quinton. Chit wants to make a music box so he asks me to play some music, so I play some flamenco music for him. He sells him the music box and Quinton offers him a few different coffees. Roderick asks us to come eat, I tell him I just ate but join him anyway.
Roderick starts telling Switz about the lizardman he talked to after he asked him about it, Azrael adds to this that he belongs to an organization named greyrent. I place an empty map/scroll case in front of me start playing some slow music in the background. After some time I take a sip from the coffee Azrael just gave me while I was playing and start playing some more upbeat music to breathe some life into the party. The party livens up and people start dropping some money into the case. Switz challenges a goliath to a drinking contest. They both get completely wasted and they pass out at the same time. As the party ends I check my case and see I have gotten 22 silver and 15 copper coins. After this we go to sleep.
It is now September 8th 137 A.H. We wake up and eat some breakfast. We prepare to leave for our planned expedition. We see Roderick coming out of Liara’s tent. The expedition is joined by Marcus, Roderick and a drow named Kalin. Switz wakes up with an immense hangover. Azrael offers everyone some coffee. We get in the carriage. While traveling Switz scouts from the sky. I hide a dagger in my costume and inspect my gear. After a few hours we arrive at the wreckage of the middle carriage, which has pretty much snapped in half with a log through the middle.
We get out of the carriage to check out the wreckage. I inspect the carriage and see that there is nothing left inside. Marcus opens up a secret compartment and takes back a chest to our carriage. Roderick decides to inspect the area for bodies, he finds one arm with tattoos. Switz takes it back to Marcus and he confirms that it belonged to their lost friend Thalrin.
We are surprised by 2 ankhegs. Lyvia is attacked with an acid splash, Switz and Roderick are too. I cast faerie fire on one of the ankhegs and Switz nails him between his armor plates with a bone bolt. Azrael casts magnify gravity making it fall down and the bone bolt sinks deeper. Chit does a melee attack on it, he does damage but doesn’t break through its armor. Ylva shoves the ankheg and knocks it prone. Roderick stabs it in the weaker part on its underside and it is weaker. Marcus shoots at the other ankheg. Kalin stabs the prone ankheg. Lyvia shoots one the other ankheg. I rush in an jump up to finish off the prone ankheg and kill it. Switz shoots the other keg and knocks of one of its feelers. After this he flies up into the sky. Chit throws a dart at the ankheg and heavily injures it. Azrael casts magnify gravity and heavily weakens it. It begins to retreat. Marcus shoots at the vile creature and impales its eye. Lyvia shoots at it and deals the final blow.
After the battle Switz and Chit investigate the bodies. The twins do too. I clean the blood of the vile thing off me as much as possible. Marcus tells us a reward is waiting for us at campfire and Liara has information for us. We sleep in the carriage, so it is now September 9th. Back at the camp Marcus gives all of us 20 gold. Liara tells us we can meet with an informant at night.
A guy runs to the gate where we’re standing and gets shot in his foot with an arrow and barraged with spells. Liara says something about it being another thief. A goblin woman takes whatever is left of the stolen wares off his charred body. Chit tries to take the body with him, Switz shoots at him and he falls unconscious just outside of the gate. After Switz asks me I reluctantly walk up to him, cast cure wounds on him and walk away without spending another second of attention on him. Lyvia takes a the dagger out of his arm and puts a piece of cloth on it.
I start roaming the market in search of a the person Quinton told me about and I walk past the goliath guy that was shitfaced the day before. I ask him if he knows anything about where I can find information, he says he can tell that the wood used is unlike any he has ever seen before.
At dinnertime I’m at the firepit we spent the last night throwing a party. Liara and Marcus and the rest of the party are here as well. Liara says “she” has arrived, a young adult Yuan-ti woman with a padded armor tank top and leather shorts, all in black. She has a slightly outgrown bobcut and slightly tanned skin from the past summer. She also has a guitar on her back. She introduces herself as Chloë and bows. She challenges me to a contest, Switz tries to sabotage her with a drinking contest and fails. I accept her challenge and she prepares a stage for us. She places some instruments on a table and I place my castanets there. I start dancing and she starts dancing as well. After this she starts absolutely shredding. I start playing on my acoustic guitar. The instruments start playing more actively. We get the crowd to get involved. The magic instruments get more active. At some point she starts shredding again and I join in. At some point we start dancing together. She puts a flaming looking rose in my mouth. The crowd is really invested at this point. We bow and a flame bursts up from behind us. the audience goes wild. She declares me the winner. We both take half of the money the crowd gave us. I get 7 gold and 50 silver. She tells me to keep the rose, because it will come in handy when in danger and is stylish.
Chloë flips off the stage and then gives me a hand. She starts giving the others in the group information. Switz asks to know just about everything about Roderick, she tells him that he is not interested in him. Roderick looks at him in a disgusted manner. Everyone else ignores him. I ask her if she knows anything about my guitar and its significance, I tell her it belonged to my great grandfather who’s stage name was Snobbledorf. Her face lights up and she tells me about the brotherhood of riddles (the dorf brothers) and that she used to read their stories when she was little. She tells me she saw a first edition of one of their fairy tale books in Driftwood. She asks me if she can join us to search for that book. We accept and we go to sleep.

Session starts at a mining/trading village called Shimmerstone, the date is September 6th 137 A.H. and it’s 5pm. We are in a cart being pulled by an isopod and controlled by a human called Roderick Ironwheel, our destination is Driftwood. We’re off the main road. Chit tries to rummage through the crates in the wagon and Azriël stops him. Lyvia tries to touch Switz’ feathers and Ylva stops her. Switz starts to introduces himself to everyone and vice versa. Switz tries to convince me to do a flip and I tell him to do it himself and find out why it’s not a good idea. Roderick tells us we’re taking a side road because the main road has had some robberies lately.
The caravan gets attacked, one carriage gets smashed by a log and our isopod sprints off with the carriage we’re in. The assailants are on top of our carriage. I use a minor illusion to set off a fake bomb and scare off one of the assailants. I move to the center of the carriage. One of the other bandits is heavily injured by Chit. Lyvia threw a waterskin yelling it has a healing potion. Chit catches it but it has nothing in it. Ylva pushes Chit who hits one of the bandits who falls out of the carriage and smashes against a tree. The bandit pushes Roderick off the carriage and we don’t know if he lived. I stab the remaining bandit through his kidney. The carriage breaks off from the isopod and the remaining bandit falls off and ends up drowning after falling into a pond. I manage to stay standing and help the twins get back up. We start looking for Roderick. It’s between 8 and 9 pm. It starts raining.
We see Roderick stumble towards us. I heal his wounds fully, since he wasn’t that injured. Chit made some weird bundle of human parts. Azrïel is helping the twins to walk through the forest. I’m helping Roderick along, since it’s dark and making light isn’t a smart move right now. We walk towards a large building, it’s partially in ruins. The rest of the party starts investigating the building and Azriël notices it is probably an abandoned church. I wait under a tree and keep an eye on the area.
We are attacked by boars inside the church. The twins manage to wound one which is killed right after. The other boar is attacked by Chit and killed by Azriël with toll of the dead. Chit carves up the boars.
Lyvia throws a burning torch at a tree and a bunch of twigblights are murdered. I use my lamp with enough oil to last for around 20 minutes. We walk into a room which used to have beds in them, but everything is broken and decayed. We find a religious rosary, which is decorated with three stars in the shape of a triangle. We walk into a different room. I see a bunch of thorns, but come to the conclusion that they aren’t relevant for me to find any information. The twins open a hatch past the thorns and Azriël makes a path for us to pass through. We enter the hatch and find the remnants of some sort of hideout. We start preparations for a campfire. Chit finds some runes which we find out is dwarvish, but can’t find out the meaning. Chit starts to cook some boar meat, I start playing some music to lift everyone’s spirits. We take a long rest and alternate lookout duty.
It is now September 7th 137 A.H. When we wake up Lyvia is absolutely zonked on coffee and runs off the moment she sees the others are awake. The twins leave the underground and Switz runs off further into the cave. He and Roderick are attacked by 2 flying swords. I help them out by casting faerie fire. One of the swords is shattered by Chit’s hammer. The twins enter the tunnel and I tell them what’s going on. I get ready to attack one of the swords if it comes close, but don’t get the chance to because Azriël snaps his fingers and the sword just drops on the ground. The sword is given to Roderick. Lyvia gives me a citrine. We walk further into the room, it is full of working supplies. Ylva opens a secret door to a storage room where she finds some valuables. I find a bunch of colored marbles in the large chamber before it, in a barrel I find 6 stone arrows with round arrowheads. During a short rest I find out the 3 marbles are beads of force. It is around 9 am.
I use cure wounds on Switz’ wing. Switz flies up to scout the area. We follow Switz towards possible signs of civilization in a formation with met and Azriël in the middle. We walk into a pumpkin patch where all the pumpkins have a jack o’lantern face, I stay cautious. Azriël takes some of the pumpkin’s seeds. Roderick shows us a plant pot he found in the catacombs of the abandoned church.
Some people start fighting for a dumb reason. I deescalate the situation, Switz talks to me about his feathers and how he wants to collect feathers of different colours. We keep walking and see a large wall with smoke coming out from behind it.
