Olan the Fabulous

Olan is a prominent Bard hailing from Northrealm. He quite had it with his homeland and their oppressive ways and basically ran off, following a wandering performer that turned out to be a Bard. He eventually hectored that Bard enough to take him as an apprentice. One overlong training montage later, he became a full Bard, who began to fu- ...uh, perform his way across the continent. He has all the fashion sense, all the charm, most of the wit and a general overabundance of personality. He uses these skills to their fullest finding pleasure and adventure wherever he goes.

Conditions:

• Wealthy (2 Sticky): Rare is the destitute bard, as they are the main source of entertainment. You may mark a box of Wealthy to cover a monetary debt rather than mark a box of Indebted. Recover a box of Wealthy when you spend a scene playing your trade at a paid venue.
• Inspiration (Fleeting 3): You may mark one box of Inspiration to give someone you can see, other than yourself, a boost. You recover a marked box of Inspiration at the start of each session. You may also recover a marked box of Inspiration at the end of performance sufficient to recover a box of Wealthy whether or not a box of Wealthy is actually recovered.
• Bardic Evocation (Fleeting 5): Like regular Evocation, but also with the additional ability to create performance Evocations. A performance Evocation cannot do direct harm or constrain another in any physical way, but it can distract or have an emotional or psychological impact. Performance Evocations can create display effects of light, sound, and smells very efficiently. The character need not split their action to do something else while maintaining one performance-based Evocation. Any additional actions require splitting your action as normal. The Bard cannot recover boxes of Evocation or Stress while a performance effect is being maintained. When dealing with a crowd of more than a two or three people, the effects are all light, sounds, smells, and maybe a light wind, but a performance evocation that will be touched by only one or two people can include minor tactile effects, though they still cannot directly harm and touch effects will not easily fool people. Performance Evocations can also be used for veils and seemings (concealing things or making them appear to be something else). The more you deviate from a things actual nature, the harder it is to be convincing.

Stunts:

• Musician: The character can play a particular musical instrument with such skill, that all Flair actions related to performing with said musical instrument gain a +1 bonus.
• Bardic Attunement: Bardic training includes attunement to Fire and Air aspects.
• Music Man (Character Creation Stunt): The bard may use their Musician Stunt with any musical instrument unless completely unfamiliar with the type of instrument in question. You can become familiar with a completely unknown instrument after a few days of fiddling with it in your spare time.
• Pocket Orchestra (Refresh) You can make all the music you want as part of a Performance Evocation, simulating entire orchestras and vocal choirs as needed. This allows you to achieve much more complex soundscapes in your workings of Performance Evocations than is normally possible.
• Courtesan (Refresh): Many Bards are colossal hoes. You have not only gone professional but are an industry leader. Prostitution is quite legal, and prostitutes are a dime a dozen. You, however, charge exorbitant fees for your time and efforts. Gain an additional box of Wealthy. You are welcome at all the high-class parties as long as you are with someone who can afford you, who is welcome at said party. You may recover all boxes of spent Wealthy by attending a high-class engagement as a paid escort.  You also may unmark a box of Inspiration. Just remember that one of the big draws of showing up at a party with a Courtesan is that everyone else in the room knows with certainty that that person will be very well laid after the party. Weaseling out of that can ruin your reputation unless the escorted party makes some significant faux pas. Being a courtesan isn’t just about banging someone for lots of cash, it is about being flaunted in front of someone’s peers. Then banging that someone for lots of cash. You may also purchase stunts from the Noble mantle as if they were from this mantle. This stunt can only be purchased once.

Olan has a old mandolin that he carries around largely as a prop, preferring to have his Performance Evocations provide the music most of the time. He also wears a dirk concealed behind the back of his vest for emergencies when his raw charm is insufficient.
