The Edax
SS-Rank
The Edax is a creature that instills fear in the hearts of even the bravest adventurers. A unique monster standing at over 7 meters tall, its gaunt and twisted form is enough to make anyone shudder in terror. Its almagamation of bones creating a skeletal frame is covered in jagged spikes, and its elongated arms end in razor-sharp claws, its body dripping with a black smokey substance. But it is the Edax's face that truly strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare to face it. The creature's face is featureless, save for 5 deep-set void-like eyes that seem to suck in all light and hope. Gazing into these eyes is said to be enough to drive a person to madness, as they feel their very soul being devoured. The Edax is a being that feeds on the life force of others, consuming their souls and leaving nothing but a shell of their former selves behind. It is said that the Edax appears only in the darkest of places, having a large underground lair, the creature is extremely territorial. It stalks its prey silently, moving with an otherworldly grace and speed that belies its skeletal frame. Its hunger is insatiable, and it will stop at nothing to feed on the souls of the living. Those who have faced the Edax and survived speak of its terrifying abilities. It is able to twist reality itself, causing hallucinations and nightmares to plague its victims. Its claws are coated in a poisonous venom that can cause paralysis and death. And its very presence seems to sap the strength and willpower of those around it. Legends say that the Edax is a creature born of the darkest magic, created by a powerful necromancer to be the ultimate weapon in their quest for power. Others say that it is a being from another dimension, drawn to our world by the energy of suffering and pain. Whatever its origins, the Edax is a creature that strikes fear into the hearts of all who encounter it. Those who seek to face it must be prepared for the fight of their lives, for the Edax will not stop until it has consumed their very soul, denying any mortal their chosen afterlife. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Monster Manual Entry: The Edax Alignment: Chaotic Evil Danger Rating: SS-Rank Health: 500 (20d20 + 300) Stats: Strength: 24 (+7) Dexterity: 22 (+6) Constitution: 26 (+8) Intelligence: 18 (+4) Wisdom: 20 (+5) Charisma: 16 (+3) Saving Throws: Dexterity +12, Constitution +15, Wisdom +12 Skills: Perception +12, Stealth +12 Senses: Darkvision 120 ft., passive Perception 22 Wisdom Throw DC (for revealing facts or weaknesses): DC 18: The Edax is vulnerable to radiant damage, taking double the normal damage.
