Dune skimmers

The main transport method of the Dune Devils, dune skimmers are a simple yet effective method of desert transportation. The riders stand on a slightly concave circular plate made of a lightweight metal, with hoops on the inside to tuck your feet under. A special double shoulder harness is used to attach the rider to large cloth kite which is launched into the air. By magically manipulating air speed and currents the devils are able to skim or "surf" across the sand dunes at rapid speeds, pulled by the kites. The lightweight nature of the footplate allows the riders to manoeuvre quickly and jump and dodge obstacles with ease, making them near impossible to catch. The harness has a quick release system and the foot hoops are easy to slip in and out of, allowing quick and easy detachment when necessary.
