The Jintvars

elements: Amber & sap.   A mountain range composed of towering stone “tree-stump” plateaus dripping with beads - and entire glaciers - of amber, within which many strange beasts can be seen frozen. The valleys are heavily forested with resin-rich conifers. Resin-oozes drop from trees onto passers-by, suffocating them.   The land is mountainous, vertiginous. It is also remote and little-prized, not necessarily ruled by the nation but not contested either.
  • why did the whispers abandon their site?
  • what was its name before Ashen Keep?

Geography

specific locations:
  • The ashen keep – a fortress holding Morcrun the grey Borathon, tarnished knight and others in suspended animation, resting atop one plateau and reached by a long spiralling road. In its inner vault are numerous individuals held frozen in amber for millennia. Former Whisper wetwork site, long abandoned except by the locals, who incorporated it into their local religion. it was later revived by Errezo in order to hold Morcrun the grey (hence its name).
  • Merifka, the town that supplies food to the ashen keep. Hunt and forage in the nearby forests, and excavate the still-edible ancient beasts from the amber. The people of Merifka believe that The Healer will one day return, heal those in the valley of the Patient, and lead them into glory. this is a remnant of the religion started by The Whispers in order to keep their site secure during their absence.
  • Valley of the Patient – on the outskirts of Merifka, a valley among vast tree-roots where the near-dead of the town are preserved in amber. This structure is huge, with tens of thousands of bodies in it.

Fauna & Flora
