Barren Isles
a widespread collection of small islands, infused with bamboo by Dowo Expats, supply vital wood for construction in the Nidari Reach. Before the Greening of the Barren Isles, these islands were unable to sustain life, and being marooned on one was an effective death sentence for those who were not aquatic. Now, they are flourishing, although the local population is somewhat economically deprived.
politically, the settlements are mostly independent, happily trading with each other and with outsiders. A few are allied with the Sokani Crown or one of the Giterikin aspirants, but most have little interest in the grand political movements of the Nidari Reach - a feeling that is entirely mutual.
