Sparring Among Friends
General Summary
Prim and Roger decided to have a duel to show who was superior after Prim's recent training. Necthan and Milo decided to tag along with mild interest in the results. After a strange run-in with a catfolk, the party made their way into the arena proper. Having arrived, they managed to catch the tail end of a fight while Roger went to the arena master to hash out the particulars of her duel with Prim. During these talks, Roger decided to involve Necthan and Milo in their fight as the pair had mentioned an interest in a separate duel, which the arena master obliged, turning their fight into a four-person free-for-all!
When the fight started, it was clear the competitors were feeling cautious, too cautious for both the announcer and crowd's liking. With half the brawlers making themselves invisible and the other half waiting for the others to make themselves known the arena began to fill with boos. Since the group had not thought to pay off the arena master to keep him from intervening, after about a half minute of no action, the arena mages were instructed to blanket the arena in glitterdust, starting things off properly, finally, much to the delight of the crowd.
With flashes of steel and spells the fighting was fierce among friends and acquaintances alike. Harsh displays of raw and practiced talent wowed the crowd, with the help of some embellishing illusions paid for by Roger. Once fighters started to drop it came quick, Milo and Roger falling within a few breaths of each other. And the heavily injured Necthan was no match for Prim. Soon, the fae and her recently sharpened blade flew above her fallen foes, the victor! A kind man in the crowd bought Milo's head after it had been flung into the audience for auction and revived the bout's only casualty.
