OH MY GODS THERE'S SPIDERS IN MY HOUSE! EEEEEEK!!
General Summary
The newly formed Clowderfolk of Xiomara was ever so close to having a home to themselves. All rats removed by previous efforts, Willow and Wisteria took the initiative to move the first set of furniture in. To their horror, they discovered a new infestation in their precious home: spiders!!
Faced with another delay to their independence, they posted another job to the quest board in the Flame of the Forest Inn and waited...and waited, and waited. Eventually, Richter took notice of their plight, formed a group, and cleared out spiders.
All who have spent time with any of the Clowderfolk, understand the difficulty in obtaining useful information from any of them. Willow tried her best but could barely speak through the tears. Overcome with emotion, she ran out of the room. Mrs. Blodwen came to her defense. Richter, Eizer, and Garth all learned what it feels like when a rolling pin hits you in the arm. Mrs. Blodwen directed them to the house and kicked them out of her inn.
Arriving at the house, the party did a perimeter sweep and strategized on how best to enter. Eventually, Garth decided the direct approach was the best. Or, at least, it might have been had the giant spider in the living room not possessed the ability to sense anything coming. Garth narrowly missed the web that spat toward his head. The party banded together, and shortly the giant spider was a mess of legs and eyes on the floor.
Upstairs, they discovered a room covered in the most beautiful webbing, refracting iridescent prisms onto the walls. The beauty was hiding the danger underneath. The party avoiding getting too close to the dream spiders or the gaseous webbing and eventually the room was cleared.
Down in the basement, the party was a little less successful. Spider swarms almost got the best of them. Thanks to some quick stepping by Garth and Richter's ability to squash bugs with his bastard sword, the party made it out without being poisoned.
Wanting to ensure they cleared the ENTIRE house, the party inspected the roof next. They found one lonely, tiny scarlet spider. Emboldened by their success, the party decided this spider wasn't worth a fight. Eizer scooped it up and put it into a vial. The scarlet spider was quick and managed to land a bit on his hand, which swelled up a bit. Thankfully, he avoided any adverse effects.
Since Willow had pointed out the LAST GROUP of adventures had left their house in disarray, the party took extra time to clean up the home of any lingering spider webs and carcasses.
They returned to the Flame of the Forest Inn to report back on a job well done. Willow was very excited to see them. That is until Eizer presented her with the spider he caught. The blood-curdling scream that proceeded brought Mrs. Blodwen out of the kitchen again. This time, snapping a kitchen towel at people. Richter was quick to dodge out of the way before Eizer and Garth received a swat across the face. Mrs. Blodwen scolded them sharply, shoved their payment in their hand, and banished them from the Flame, at least for the night.
