New Horizons Part 2
General Summary
Recovering from the sahuagin raid, the party continued to sail toward Ruintale Isle. They were stopped by a group of sea elves, who only did not attack them because of the heads of the sahuagin they had hung from the front of their ship. Claiming the heads as tribute, the sea elves gave the party a clearer sense of the extent of their waters, and informed them of how to avoid the war zone between sea elf and sahuagin. They also informed the party that if they want tokens of passage across their waters, they would need to turn in another 14 sahuagin heads.
Finally making it to Ruintale Isle, the party assessed their food situation, and realized that they did not actually have enough food to make it back to the mainland. As they were discussing their options, they were attacked by a pair of shark-eating crabs. They lost one sailor to the attack, and almost lost Itok (the man steering the ship) as well. But luckily for them, the crab meat from the two massive crabs provided enough food to more than cover the rest of their journey.
While Asano cooked a meal of crab (and smoked the remaining meat to preserve it for the rest of the journey) the rest of the party explored the ruins of the settlement they had landed. During their searching, Milo leaped across a crumbling bridge to explore the ruins of an old lighthouse. There he discovered a chest full of valuables. After a hearty meal of crab, the party set out to canvass the island for points of interest.
During their exploration, they traveled north and discovered the ruins of a temple to Lathander, where they spent the night. Asano made plans to restore the temple in dedication to his god, Lathander. The next day they headed south and arrived at the massive skeleton of an Elysian titan. While wandering around it, they were attacked by a group of stryx, who targeted the humans in the party. After killing most of the stryx, with one fleeing at the end, they discovered a staircase going down into the ground inside the skull. Leaving the skeleton, they came across an old battlefield, with the skeleton of a dragon and a cyclops. There they found a ladder inside an old well. They took note of it as something to delve into later and returned to the ship.
On the return trip to the mainland, the party veered south to avoid sea elf waters, rounding north to pass by the Isles of Corella on the east side of them.
