New Horizons - Secrets of the Elysian Titan
General Summary
Milo, Roger and Asano got together at the Tower of Knowledge in order to solidify Tetrodora's hold on the island. Using teleportation, they arrived at the remains of the elysian titan and made their way underground. After about an hour of descending a spiral staircase they found themselves in a cave system. Following along the system, they were attacked by a bonestorm at the site of an old camp. The fight was a bit tough, but the party came out on top. Following the fight, Asano went to cross a rope bridge, which collapsed under his weight from years of damp rot. He missed catching the side of the cliff, but managed to swim back and climbed the cliff afterward. The party worked together to get across the fast running brook, and moved deeper into the cave system.
They came to a deep chasm with another rope bridge around it. Trying to learn from Asano's mistake, they paused to inspect the bridge. Determining that it should hold their weight if they go one at a time, Omar (Roger's cohort) went first. Unfortunately for him, a lurker above was waiting for him. Swooping out of the dark above, it enveloped Omar while a second one swept down after Milo. In the fight, both Omar and Milo were nearly killed, and one of the lurkers destroyed the rope bridge, but the party was victorious and managed to revive their fallen comrades. Barely making their way across the chasm, they moved on through the cave system. They crossed a few more bridges and eventually found themselves at a massive vault door. It took them some time and a lot of discussion, but they managed to figure out the combination of the door and made their way through.
Beyond the door, they found the remains of an ancient armoury and an ancient forge. They found a few weapons of value and met a new friend. Stuck under the ancient forge was a small fire elemental who was curious rather than violent. After speaking to it, they learned its name is Ignifex and that it used to help make weapons. After some discussion, they left Ignifex with Omar and delved deeper, into another hole with a ladder in it. At the bottom they came to a cave system filled with glowing crystals. There they found records detailing gem mining operations in the cave. Unfortunately, the records disintegrated at Milo's touch. Deeper into the cave they were attacked by a carnivorous crystal. It nearly killed Milo, but they managed to take it down. In the rest of the cave system, they found a strange void hole which almost seemed to urge Asano to enter (as he was the only one who came close to it) and a teleportation circle which brought them back to the surface. With the area secured, the party returned to Trader's Cusp.
