Explore the Verdant Expanse - H6
General Summary
Magnus Brasshand , Covak Morturium, Meako, and Dana Amberclove left from Xiomara to go exploring across the Crab's Feast River. On their way there, they were attacked by a couple of bandits. The bandits managed to hit Meako with an arrow, but otherwise they did nothing but get cut down. The players stripped the bodies of valuables and spent some time discussing what to do with them. While they did this, both bandits died from their wounds.
Toward the end of the day, they crossed the river and arrived in the plains outside the forested lands of the Arbour Kingdom. Camping for the night, they almost had an unbroken, restful night. Toward dawn, a single formian worker took a cheap shot at Covak Morturium, losing its head in return. The next day they wandered around the plains until they came across a large collection of standing stones filled with trees. Thinking this an odd sight in the plains, they moved forward cautiously. As they drew closer, they sent Meako ahead to scout. After getting a closer look, he returned to the party to report an immensely large giant creature seated among trees, speaking to them. The party decided to approach with hands away from their weapons in a show of arriving in peace. As they did so, a few of the trees stepped out of their way. They were approached by an elf who told them they had stumbled across the Great Moot. He advised them that they could not enter the ring of stones. He also asked them to track down and rescue some stolen sheep belonging to The Elder. Dana Amberclove, feeling fascinated by the animated tree creatures, approached one and asked if she could touch it. The treant allowed this and also touched her on the top of her head. He introduced himself as Kalopanahetor. The party agreed to find the sheep and set about tracking them down.
After about one and a half hours, they came across a pair of formian workers trying to corrale the sheep against a large rock. Getting the drop on them, the party killed both formians, which caused the sheep to scatter in fear. They then spent time wrangling sheep and tying them up. After getting them bound and pulled together, Meako spent a few minutes calming them down so that they could use their rope to harness the sheep and lead them back to their owner. The Elder was very grateful to them for returning his sheep and gave them a cash reward.
After this heartwarming reunion, Dana Amberclove gave Kalopanahetor the gift of a ribbon which she tied to one ofh is branches, and the party departed to finish exploring the region. Some time later, they came across a trio of formians. One warrior and two workers. After a bit of a tougher fight, the party came out victorious and headed back to the Moot to have a safer place to sleep. They had a quiet night and headed back to Xiomara the next day.
