Dawnbringer, Part 8
General Summary
[The following is a coded message intercepted by the Waterdhavian Watch.]
Master, Secondary reports have confirmed: Several of our buyers are missing shipments: griffon eggs, owlbear cubs, and dire wolf pups. It appears the Company liberated them all, along with the celestial unicorn cleric, Shaelassa. Best guess is that she convinced them to work with her though unconfirmed rumors say someone may have kept one of the eggs. Despite their use of invisibility potions, all of the shadow thieves on watch were wiped out, apparently simply slaughtered, their bodies left where they lay. (A couple had been chewed on by owlbears, but that was post-mortem.) Several of them were able to avoid some powerful lightning spells, but it looks like they were driven insane by magic and killed each other, too. Meanwhile, all of the cages' locks were picked. There's rumors that a priest of Mask was involved, but it's unknown to what extent. Surely the Lord of Shadows has not judged us unworthy? At this time it's also unknown if the Dawnbringer Company has completely wiped out our last cell in Waterdeep, as we haven't confirmed if the local master has survived nor heard any reports on the remaining exotic animal (the one kept in the force cage). What we do know, is that the animal cages are empty, and the unicorn is gone (plane shift?).
