Dawnbringer, Part 6

General Summary

From the Annals of Amaunator, Vol. IX:   Spring 1379 - [The author of this passage will note that his sources include interviews with supposed former members of the Dawnbringer Company, and neither their tales nor theology have been verified.] The Dawnbringer Company translates the Dawnbringer Scroll, a relic containing the uttered prophecy of a blind sun soul monk. They conclude that the ritual for summoning the titular legendary artifact requires a hilt forged from gold from a golden dragon's hoard and begin researching the dragon lists in libraries in Elversult, Baldur's Gate, and Waterdeep for any sign of living dragons known after the dracorage in 1373. Solus Dawnbringer converts to the so-called Risen Sun Heresy after consulting with his companions during this time. The Talos-worshiper Malen opposes this conversion as flippant, which threatens to erupt into a likely violent argument but for the intervention of Rhal Stedrisk, a worshiper of [redacted]. Brother Rhal had recently been enlightened by his conversation with Sunlord Orndeir and approved of Solus' conversion, as did Anathema, a follower of [redacted], though her approval was possibly suspect or sarcastic. Evette Deadbrow's incredible intelligence and wit forced her to remain a steadfastedly neutral observer and explorer [source bias?].   Thus resolved, their travels to Waterdeep ultimately were beset by dangers including an encounter with trolls and a pen-collecting [what?] boat captain. The hungry trolls gave the Company its first all-out fight, the Talassan electrocuting all of them, Rhal executing one with a single scythe-strike, and Anathema's invisible attack distracting another. Evette's mastery of knowledge revealed their weaknesses and allowed Solus to use his newfound sunmaster powers to end their regeneration.   In Baldur's Gate, Anathema encouraged travelers to Pandora to move to Slumber while the Company researched at the local library and then found travel back to Waterdeep, where the rest of their legendary journey began...
