What follows is my account of events regarding the actions of the Dawnbringer Company, as well as a collection of related reports from their interactions with our faithful throughout the Tower. Though you yourself have a perspective less clouded, I have assembled this report to the best of my ability at your request.
The Company arrived in the morning before the Highsun service and joined the faithful for breakfast. Rhal Stedrisk obtained information about the layout of the Tower of the Morn from one of the monks at this time, who informed him that a golden holy symbol of Amaunator would be required to access the Hall of Records. The Company, apparently acting on this information, assembed in the Meditation Chamber across the courtyard from the Hall. The paladin began making a loud and public petition before the courtyard altar, and I admit this made it impossible to hear what was being discussed by the rest in the chamber. As Solus ended his prayer, the one called Malen present himself and a gold symbol before me. I cast detect magic as I was ordered, and it revealed that a spell had been cast upon the amulet, which I quickly dispelled, revealing the bronze symbol underneath. When I sent a monk to inform you, the rest of the Company presented themselves and they remained until the monk I dispatched returned with your order to attend you in your personal chamber, and I sent them to you.
From what you have relayed to me of that conversation, Sunlord, they revealed that they had been sent to likely acquire the Dawnbringer Scroll, and admitted as much. They admitted to you as well as to me that it was Master Stedrisk who had received the holy symbol from Hronkil, and it was this same fellow who accepted your offer to work for the Brotherhood of the Glorious Sun, though three of his companions were unswayed by even your evangelist's voice and fled when you detected evil amongst them. As you have requested, I have kept their alignment hidden for now, and only include it here in this report for your eyes. After Malen, Evette, Anathema, and Malachi teleported, Solus and Rhal remained and you authorized them to receive the Scroll, granting Rhal a gold holy symbol and your key to the reliquary in the Hall of Records. I can confirm that they did use the key to acquire the scroll and did not trigger any of its protections. As you have welcomed these two to remain among us, I will offer any assistance I can to their holy mission to recover Dawnbringer. While I have no doubts about your wisdom, Sunlord, I do feel that in the interest of completeness I should mention this is the first time you have sent another to recover an artifact of our Lord rather than organizing the campaign yourself. You did, however, mention to me that you saw in a dream the holy artifact being recovered by another, and that your obedience to the Sunkeeper is why you allowed them to leave.
On that note, it is my own sincere hope that I have been obedient to your will in completing this report.
