Dawnbringer, Part 1
General Summary
[The following has been painstakingly rescribed from the journal of one Solus Dawnbringer, a member of the Dawnbringer Company of 1379. Grammar and spelling mistakes were numerous, and some may have escaped notice.]
Can yew believe it?! Captain Evette Deadbrow and her crew saw my post in Xiomara and sailed up river all the way to me here in Drake's Hardbore! I was a a bit out of sorts when they found me, but they didn't seem to mind--me and the tavern drank all 3 barrels I bought! Anyway, when my friends didn't show up, they said they would join me in my quest. Such great people!
Okay, so Evette is a human, Aglarondi be my guess, she talks almost as much as me! And then there's Anathema, she doesn't talk much at all, and her boyfriend talks even less. There's Malen, an old elf wizard, he's friendly but tried to explain why we can't sail to Faerun from another plane, more on that in a bit. Then there's Rhal, but don't let his dark armor and scary stick fool you, he's super-friendly. Even knows a few goods spells that he shared with me, and I shared a bit of my story with him. He'd make a great paladin.
So they got some books and maps and scrolls and we were off! Into the Sea of Swords, that is. Something called a plain shift went horribly wrong and plopped us all down in the middle of the sea. We couldn't see anything at first, but then Malen flew reeeeeally high up an saw some light. They were gonna use anohter plain shift spell, this one called a tellyport, but it was worse somehow and they were gonna leave Rhal behind and get him later. I said no way I'd leave a friend behind, even if he had a cool floating rope thingy, but they forced me anyway and then we plopped again, this time in my hometown, Waterdeep. My stomach hurt from all the tellyporting, but we had to save Rhal! We ran into the Watchful Order's tower and begged for a rushed tellyport rescue. They sent an airy okra mage to pick up Rhal, and he landed right there at my feet! I gave him the biggest Waterdhavian welcome I could. And hey, we're even in time for services!
Oh, and I'm never tellyporting again. It's awful. My feet need to see where they're goin'.
