Content Creators
Community Contributors
Who They Are
Community Contributors are writers, artists, and creators who freely contribute to Panacopia without being part of the Recognized Contributor (RC) program. They are the creative backbone of the community, exploring ideas, expanding the world, and inspiring others.
What They Can Do
- Create Community Content – Stories, artwork, lore, worldbuilding ideas, and other media.
- Expand and reinterpret existing ideas – Community Contributors can interact with established world elements but are not bound by canonicity.
- Engage with the community – Participate in discussions, feedback, and collaborative worldbuilding.
- Have their work recognized – Highly engaged and well-received content may be featured or considered for semi-canon status (see Canonization Process link).
- Register Original IP – Contributors can register original elements introduced in their works and maintain certain rights regarding their use in RC or canon content (see Contribution Guidelines link).
Submission & Acknowledgment
- All submitted content is subject to a non-optional acknowledgment system before being accessed (see Submission & Display link).
- The acknowledgment page will include:
- Content tagging (for ratings and content sensitivity).
- IP recognition (showing how the work interacts with Panacopia’s ecosystem).
- Plagiarism Warning (if applicable) (works with high similarity to other works will be flagged)
- An optional author's note, where creators can add context or dispute tags.
What They Cannot Do (Without Becoming an RC)
- Monetize their work through Panacopia – Community Content is free or available for a nominal fee to support the platform, but contributors cannot directly sell their work through any avenue including the Panacopia platform. (see Monetization link).
- Claim canonicity – All Community Content is non-canon unless later recognized through engagement or editorial review (see Canonization Process link).
- Bypass content analysis and tagging – All works undergo automated LLM analysis to ensure proper content rating and IP acknowledgment (see Submission & Display link).
Pathways to Greater Involvement
While Community Contributors have full creative freedom, those who wish to deepen their involvement can:
- Apply for or be Invited for Recognized Contributor (RC) status (via community engagement, IP usage, past work, nomination, etc.) (see Recognized Contributors link).
- Submit content for editorial recognition (works that gain traction may be reviewed for semi-canon integration) (see Canonization Process link).
- Collaborate with other contributors and RCs (expanding ideas together strengthens community-building efforts).
Recognized Contributors
Who They Are
Recognized Contributors (RCs) are approved creators who produce semi-canon content within Panacopia. They are given greater creative privileges, including the ability to monetize their work while contributing to the development of the shared world.
What They Can Do
- Create Recognized Contributor Content (RCC) – Works that expand on Panacopia's world while maintaining semi-canon status.
- Monetize their work – RCs can sell subscription-based content, direct downloads, or published works (see Monetization link).
- Benefit from fee-sharing for monetized works that incorporate their original IP – RCs will receive a share of revenue based on how significantly their registered IP contributes to another monetized work. (see Monetization link).
- Exercise greater control over their IP in other RC works – RCs can veto fundamental changes to their registered IP if used in another RC’s work (see Contribution Guidelines link).
- Engage with the community – RCs can collaborate with contributors, participate in discussions, and help shape the evolving setting.
- Influence the world’s canon – Highly engaged RC content may be eligible for full canonization (see Canonization Process link).
How to Become an RC
Community Contributors can qualify for Recognized Contributor status through:
- High Community Engagement – Works with strong ratings, discussion, and visibility may be considered.
- Frequent Use of Registered IP – Contributors who regularly expand on established world elements gain recognition.
- Application Based on Past Work or Audience – Established creators with a proven body of work or audience reach can apply.
- Editorial Recommendation – Panacopia staff and editors can offer direct invitations to promising contributors.
- Peer Nomination – Existing RCs or high-ranking community members can recommend a contributor for RC status.
- Plagiarism Warning - if applicable (works with high similarity to other works will be flagged)
- An optional author's note, where creators can add context or dispute tags.
What They Cannot Do
- Bypass content analysis and tagging – All works undergo automated LLM analysis (see Submission & Display link).
- Claim full canonicity – RC content is semi-canon unless fully approved through the canonization process (see Canonization Process link).
- Sell work outside of Panacopia using its IP – RCs must follow monetization and IP guidelines for Panacopia-based content (see Monetization link).
Pathways to Greater Involvement
RCs who consistently produce high-quality, impactful works may:
- Be considered for full canonization (when their works become integrated into Panacopia’s official setting) (see Canonization Process link).
- Gain additional platform privileges (such as advanced tools, promotional support, or publishing opportunities).
- Apply for World Editor roles, assisting in the curation and expansion of Panacopia’s evolving world.
Translators & Facilitators (Special Contributor Roles)
Translators and Facilitators help expand Panacopia's accessibility by adapting content for broader audiences, whether through language translation, accessibility formats, or alternative media versions.
What They Can Do
✔ Translate Community Content or non-paywalled RC works if the original creator allows translations for that piece.
✔ Translate paywalled RC content only with the RC’s approval.
✔ Create accessibility versions (e.g., audio adaptations, simplified text versions, or formatted versions for screen readers).
✔ Earn a 10% share of revenue on authorized translations or accessibility adaptations of monetized works.
✔ Receive complimentary Subscriber access as Registered Translators & Facilitators (RTFs).
Permissions & Restrictions
✔ Each individual work must allow or disallow translations and accessibility versions at submission.
✔ RCs have full control over translations and accessibility versions of paywalled works.
✔ Authorized translations block same-language CC translations of paid works.
✔ Unauthorized translations or adaptations of monetized works may be published as Community Content, but only if no authorized version exists.
More details on submission, approval, and best practices for translations and accessibility adaptations can be found in the Translation & Accessibility Guidelines section.
World Editors
Who They Are
World Editors are curators, lorekeepers, and content reviewers who help maintain the continuity, quality, and structure of Panacopia’s evolving world. They do not receive direct payment but are given greater influence over worldbuilding, canonization, and content refinement.
What They Can Do
- Review and curate submissions – Ensure semi-canon and canonized works remain consistent with Panacopia’s core framework.
- Assist with the canonization process – Evaluate Recognized Contributor (RC) works for potential integration into Panacopia’s official setting (see Canonization Process link).
- Facilitate worldbuilding discussions – Engage with the community and RCs to refine new content, propose world elements, and clarify setting details.
- Help shape content guidelines – Assist in defining best practices for contributors, ensuring quality and cohesion.
- Moderate contributor disputes – If issues arise over IP use, creative conflicts, or thematic inconsistencies, World Editors may provide guidance or mediation (see Contribution Guidelines link).
How to Become a World Editor
RCs and highly engaged community members may be invited to become World Editors based on:
- Consistent contributions to worldbuilding discussions
- Strong understanding of Panacopia’s setting and themes
- Editorial experience or prior involvement in content curation
- Demonstrated ability to mediate and collaborate with other contributors
What They Cannot Do
- Dictate creative direction – World Editors preserve continuity and facilitate collaboration, but do not override contributor intent.
- Monetize their editorial role – While RCs can monetize their own works, World Editors do not receive direct payment for their editorial duties.
- Force canonization of content – The canonization process is collaborative, and final decisions may involve multiple editors or administrative review.
Pathways to Greater Involvement
World Editors who consistently contribute to the development of Panacopia may:
- Gain additional administrative privileges (such as managing specific lore categories or setting elements).
- Be considered for paid roles in future expansions (as Panacopia grows and monetization opportunities increase).
- Play a key role in shaping major world events, cross-collaborations, or official projects.
