The Soul Battery

The soul battery is an Atheistic means of drawing divine power from a concept or idea by forming an amalgamation of souls. This Amalgamation became known as the soul battery and was made up of souls that merged together under one belief, one all ruling idealization of law. This Soul Battery was created inadvertently by The Precepts. The Precepts started during a period of strange worship where the idealization of the concepts of justice and law allowed those that entered into the service of said ideals to gather power from it. These people that would enter oaths like paladins and those like clerics, at the end of their lives they would return to the soul battery to return the power that they borrowed and then provide said power to the newer members of the precepts. The Precepts seek to reclaim their ancestral homeland of Is'vandal, they were forced out by the Gravewardens.

The Precepts created and maintain the soul battery. they bind themselves to it via an oath where they borrow a fragment of its power then cultivate that power where upon death it will be returned to the soul battery and the soul merges in allowing the next generation of The Precepts to continue the mission.
