Primal Spirit

Nature spirits are fey that wield the natural forces of nature via the primal source like druids or rangers. They are often native to Pan-tyrel and often take up residence in areas similar or close to the feywild. These creatures can be separated into different categories like that of the cosmic forces starting with Primal, Elemental, Death, Life, Light, Dark and finally corrupted spirits. These spirits often have Fey(Spirit type) for creature type. They will sometimes choose to bless a child or enter a contract if they take a liking to the individual.

  • Primal spirits are usually representative of ancient forces of nature that have taken an animal form and carry immense power, primal spirits reincarnate after they are killed.
  • Elemental spirits cover everything from fire, water, earth and air as well as covering any sub elements like sand, lightning, lava, and similar spirits.
  • Death spirits can cover things from ghosts to unseelie fey. Death spirits tend to be rare and usually associated with a sub school of necromancy like the soul, blood, bones, etc.
  • Life spirits cover healing and plants. They can most often be covered by the archetypical fey or fairy.
  • Corrupt spirits are spirits of any previous category that has become tainted by a source other than the primal source. This type of spirit can be powerful but is often a fiend or aberration creature types.

These are nature spirits that were not created by Silva or matern but rather are the physical embodiments of nature and will often work with both gods to protect nature. They are often powerful incarnations of nature tied to the natural world, venerated by those who used magic tied to nature itself. It is thought that there is some connection between the primal spirits of nature and the more chaotic fey of the feywild. Some even think that the primal spirits were created as a side effect of the feywild blossoming on Pan-tyrel.

For that reason, they were capable of passing through extremely narrow passages and of engulfing opponents within their fiery bodies.

The Crimson Phoenix is described by many sages as a champion of good, and by others as a random agent of destruction. Types of spirits

Fox spirit

Also known as: Kitsune

the fox primal spirits start out looking like a normal fox but the longer they live and the more hardship they withstand the more tails the fox grows. In Linju a fox with more than 6 tails is considered a divine beast. known to be native to two different environments on Pan-tyrel, the Isle of Linju and Feyfeather Forest.

Nekomata
The Two Tailed Cat, cat spirit with two tails skilled with soulfire and necromancy. Like all cats they have nine lives. They possess the ability to drain the life essence of creatures and shapeshift. Nekomata are typically death spirits.
Maonari

In the ancient lore there exists a creature born of the unholy union between a Nekomata and a Kitsune—the Maonari. These beings, blessed with the gifts of both their feline and vulpine lineage, walk the delicate line between light and shadow, fire and darkness.

The Maonari, adorned with fur and eyes that gleam with otherworldly wisdom, possess a unique essence embodying the primal spirits. Their tails, a symbol of their power and age, grow in number as they mature. Where a Kitsune can only have a potent maximum of nine tails, the Maonari can have ten. The tenth tail comes from the Nekomata lineage. When a Maonari gets their tenth tail is is a split tail. Each tail gained experiences, age and mastery of their inherited magical abilities.

Like the flickering flames that dance in the night, the Maonari possess an affinity for fire, wielding the flames of pyromancy with a grace that mesmerizes and intimidates. Yet, their mastery of fire extends beyond mere elemental manipulation. They wield the potent Foxfire of the Kitsune and the strange dark flames of the Nekomata. Additionally drawing from their ancestry, they command the arts of illusion and enchantment, weaving deceptive veils that blur the boundaries of reality and fantasy.

But it is in the realm of dark magic and necromancy that the Maonari truly reveal their dark inheritance. Like shadows cast by moonlight, they harness the forces of death and decay, weaving spells of enchantment that bind the spirits of the departed to their will. With a flick of their tails, they can drain the very essence of life from their prey, leaving naught but emptiness in their wake. Thier magical proficiency is amplified by an artifact known as the Fox Bead. A vessel of magic and capable of draining the life essence of the living and storing the essence of the Maonari's being and the spells they wield. With it, they can shapeshift with ease, taking on forms both mundane and fantastical, blending seamlessly into the world around them.

Yet, amidst their prowess in the arcane arts, the Maonari bear the mark of their Nekomata progenitors—the cat's nine lives that course through their veins, granting them resilience and tenacity in the face of adversity. Like their feline kin, they are aloof and enigmatic, their curiosity tempered by a sly and mischievous nature inherited from their Kitsune lineage.

Beware the wanderer of the twilight realms, for the Maonari roam the hidden paths of the world, their presence a testament to the delicate balance between light and darkness, life and death. They can be the guardians of secrets long forgotten and the harbingers of mysteries yet untold or they can be unholy demons of darkness and death.

Genies

Genies and genie kin are also elemental spirits

Unicorns

Unicorns were not subject to poison, death magic, or charm spells. Unicorns were able to sense evil nearby and radiate an aura which protected them from most evil spells. A touch of the unicorn's horn could both heal wounds and cure poison. Unicorns also had the ability to teleport to nearby locations.

Ki-rin Ki-rins were noble creatures native to the celestial planes, who typically worked for good-aligned deities in direct opposition to the forces of evil or served as protectors of large areas of the mortal world. They were regarded as harbingers of good fortune, and days when a ki-rin was sighted were considered blessed. A Kirin is one of the few creatures that harness the heavenly radiant lightning.

Ki-rins were similar to unicorns in some respects, as both were noble equine creatures with a single horn. They had stag-like bodies, but were covered in golden scales instead of fur, although some were known to have golden or velvety blue fur. They often had thick manes of golden hair regardless. Their shimmering scales and/or fur gave them the appearance of being ablaze in magical light when ki-rins were in flight. They normally had deep violet eyes and melodious voices.

The overall appearance of ki-rins varied depending on the power they served. Some looked like giant unicorns while others were more draconic, and they could also vary in size, with some being as large as elephants. Most had a spiral horn which, like their hooves, was pinkish-copper in color, but some had two horns, or even deer-like antlers

Ki-rins rarely touched the ground, and were often found soaring through the skies in search of evil to smite and good deeds to be done. Although generous and not prone to greed, ki-rins accumulated treasures, some of which were created by other celestial beings and others of which were trophies and trinkets, mementos from villainous foes they had defeated.

Physically and magically strong the ki-rin's power was so great that it affected areas outside their homes. Their celestial presence purified all running water within three miles of the lairs. When evildoers attempted to corrupt the waters magically or physically, the waters returned to their purified state within three minutes. The aura of ki-rin's home affected good-aligned creatures giving them strength and health, and it scared evil-aligned creatures away. Negative effects of curses, poisons, and diseases were temporarily lifted from good creatures, and if they were to fall from dangerous heights, ki-rin's winds protected them from harm, letting them gently descend to the ground. Upon ki-rin's death, all of these effects dispersed while the boons granted to creatures and plants in the area remained for three following years. Particularly powerful Kirin are able to go toe to toe with ancient dragons.

Ki-rin hair could be used to create youth elixir. One portion of the elixir required 6 ounces of the creature's hair. Ki-rin horns were used in magic and potion-making, but they were highly perishable. Ki-rins occasionally offered guidance to mortals who pledged themselves to the celestial horned creatures, training under them as monks and serving as ki-rin's agents sniffing evil out across the lands.
