Voa - "The Void Dragon"
Voa is the master of magic, a creature of darkness that travels between the stars in the night sky, and the Master of All Doors. Voa is said to have been the last of the Successor Gods to awaken in the post-Ruination period known as the Holy Emergence, and arguably the mightiest. As the Master of All Doors, Voa is alone what keeps the rest of the Successor Gods from emerging beyond the Outer Planes to potentially wreak havoc across the Nine Worlds or Dimensions of Energy. The dragon stalks the void between worlds, the Dark Tapestry, as its apex predator, feasting upon cosmic energies within and would not hesitate to feast upon an errant God lost in its void.
Some view the Void Dragon as an agent of destruction, and the being responsible for the deaths of the Elder Gods and the following Ruination that afflicted the universe. Some view him as a weapon of divine judgment, a being that devoured the distant and destructive Elder Gods, and that seeks to keep the new pantheon in place for the health of the universe and mankind. Others with esoteric beliefs are convinced the dragon is merely a conscious manifestation of The Weave itself, a being that acts as its immune system and seeks to understand itself. As with most things, the truth is perhaps somewhere in the middle.
Voa is a massive dragon whose body consists of meteorites and dark stone embedded with crystals that radiate cosmic energies, with wings woven with precious gem-like stones, each held telekinetically together to resemble diaphanous wings that carry it through the void. Many depictions show the Void Dragon as possessing its own asteroid belt, but to the scholar or follower of Voa, these encircling rocks are his Ten Comets that play a significant role in his faith.
Areas of Concern: Magic, The Weave, portals, ley lines, psionics Divine Realm: The Dark Tapestry Alignment: Neutral Typical Follower Alignments: Any Edicts: seek out magical power and use it, teach magic to others Anathema: cause a magical disaster Doctrines and Beliefs: Voa does not instill in his followers a sense of morality, or code, or much of anything beyond the use and advance of magic. Be it for altruistic or selfish reasons, for the conquering of good or evil, none of these things matter to Voa. The only thing Voa demands of his followers is the destruction of aberrations where they occur, as their corrupting presence damages the Weave. Followers of Voa however believe in ritual ceremony as much as any other deity’s however, centered around the passage of the Ten Comets. The Ten Comets are said to have formed at the same time as Voa, one each passing visibly passing through the skies of each of the worlds: Heaven, Elysium, the Beastlands, Nirvana, Palurin, the Maelstrom, Hell, Abaddon, and the Abyss. The last and final Comet however, is believed to be the egg from which he was born, formed within the Dark Tapestry. Each comet travels throughout the Dark Tapestry seemingly guided by purposeless cosmic forces, appearing in cycles visible in the stars above the many worlds of the universe. Followers of Voa worship these cycles, though the tenants vary from world to world, as the passage of a “year” can vary in length. Each comet creates celestial phenomena that affects the world, empowering magic as it passes. At this point, the skies of Palurin have been witness to 6 of Voa’s Ten Comets, each prophesied to arrive later. The Comets are known as the following:
