Tizkhan - "Lord of Rebirth"

Tizkhan is the Lord of the Rebirthing Flame, the Hawk of Light, and The Great Purifier. Tizkhan is said to have been born from the final lingering ember of Reshiliah, Queen of Ash. In the time of The Ruination, the Eternal Flame held in the sacred vault of the then ruling Sultana Ayasellah Mihelar Khalidlah II began to dwindle in intensity until it was barely more than the size of a small candle’s flame. The Sultana in a rare act of self sacrifice committed a great act of honor and threw herself upon the flame, causing the flame to roar back to life. The Sultana Ayasellah was a charred husk formed of ash, and from her dying remains the last ember erupted into life, becoming the god Tizkhan.   Tizkhan is the living avatar of the Eternal Flame, and an agent of good in a Plane of existence that for millennia has known only the cruelty and lordship of the Efreeti. He is the patron of fire elementals, azers, rare efreeti that seek a different path, and more. Tizkhan is not a vengeful god, and offers all souls before him the chance for redemption and rebirth to become something better.   Many times has Tizkhan waged war against the Efreeti and their Dominion of Fire, scouring their holds with the power of the sun and its radiance. Many times he has been slain, though not without immense effort, before being reborn anew from the Eternal Flame in his domain of the Sacred Lucent Mountain.   Tizkhan appears as a great phoenix. It is said that where Tizkhan flies, the sun follows.

Doctrines and Beliefs: Tizkhan’s followers believe in the principals of rebirth through flame. The church of Tizkhan known as the Disciples of the Phoenix believe that fire is not a tool to be used for mass destruction, but as a cleansing weapon to eradicate the foul rot that has gripped the world so tightly since the days of The Ruination. Disciples follow in the footsteps of their lord and seek to fight against cruelty, efreeti or not, across every realm of existence that they walk. Despite this burning courage, Disciples are not without mercy and not above offering the opportunity for redemption towards those who have been responsible for these cruelties so long as their repentance is genuine. Warriors in pursuit of these crusades are known as Firebrands.   Disciples also fight battles not just against the unjust hands of cruel leaders and monsters, but also against the vileness that inhabits the world itself, burning down corrupted forests and fields so that in time the earth will birth new growth to sustain life as it was meant to. Many Flame Order druids take upon this holy responsibility. Tizkhan however possesses strange sects of worshippers in small numbers around the universe. Some of these followers believe in both the renewing aspects of flame, and the virtue of redemption, but many of these more wayward fools take it a step further by subjecting those who are to be redeemed to torture by fire, believing that only in the flames of Tizkhan can the sinners be able to repent not just their bodies and minds, but their eternal souls as well.   Regardless of their preferred methods of worship, nearly all Disciples of the Phoenix are cremated upon death, though following the years of The Ruination this act is not nearly as uncommon as it used to be.
Worshippers: Tizkhan possesses some of the most passionate and varied followers amongst the elemental gods. Everyday people and mighty heroes alike dedicate worship to the Hawk of Light, praying for the cleansing flames of Tizkhan to illuminate the darkness left lingering in the world around them.   On the Elemental Plane of Fire, many flock to the Sacred Lucent Mountain to redeem themselves in the eyes of Tizkhan and fight to bring change for the greater good of life in their realm, including rare efreeti who desire change among their people and culture.   It is said in legends that the priests of Tizkhan quite literally channel the power of the Eternal Flame. Following a battle for control over the Gravehallow Timberland region in the continent of Nordstaad, a Firebrand of Tizkhan restored two brave souls to life. These two soldiers are said to have inherited the power of the Eternal Flame within them, with each of their descendants possessing the powers of a Phoenix Sorcerer.
