The Mortal Ones

In the dawn of time where shadows lay, Twelve souls arose to light the way. With the Creators’ whispers in the air, Each mortal stepped forth, a resolute dare.   Rat the clever, quick of mind, Sowed the seeds where life would bind. With nimble fingers and vibrant schemes, He carved the rivers, and sparked the dreams.   Bull, steadfast, with muscles strong, Plowed through darkness, where shadows throng. With mighty toil, he shaped the land, Turning wild earth to a fertile band.   Tiger, fierce with a heart ablaze, Unleashed power in a roaring craze. Through jungles thick and mountains high, She carved the skies, let freedom fly.   Rabbit, gentle, with quiet grace, Brought forth blooms in each sacred space. With tender care, she nurtured all, From whispering winds to the leaves that fall.   Dragon mighty, with wisdom deep, Summoned storms and the secrets to keep. With scales that shimmer and a roar divine, He penned the stars, making fate align.   Snake, elusive, with subtle art, Wove through shadows, a master of heart. In silence profound, her secrets unfurled, She whispered knowledge to the waiting world.   Frog, the leaper, agile and spry, Danced on lily pads, under the sky. With joyful croaks, he filled the night air, Bridging land to water, spreading life everywhere.   Lizard, the watcher, with eyes so keen, Climbed up high where the world was seen. With swift, silent grace, he blended with light, A guardian of secrets, both day and night.   Monkey, playful, with tricks up his sleeve, Danced with laughter, and made all believe. With agility bright, he swung through the trees, A jester of fate, bringing joy with ease.   Rooster, herald of dawn’s embrace, Sang of beginnings, in time and space. With a crowing call, he ushered in light, Promising hope with each day’s new fight.   The Wolf, the loyal, ever true, Guarded the realm, both me and you. With fierce devotion, he kept watch at night, Defending the weak, spreading love’s light.   Boar, the bounty, the soul of feast, With a heart so pure, he welcomed the least. His laughter echoed in every hall, Celebrating life, embracing all.   Together they wove the fabric of night, With the Creators guiding, their spirits took flight. In harmony, their strengths intertwined, Crafting a world, majestic and kind.   So remember, dear wanderer, as you quest on this day, Of the Twelve Mortals who forged the way. In every creature, in every soul, Their legacy lingers, forever whole.
