Temple of the Mortal Ones
In the beginning, when the Gods were young and we were lost and confused, there was chaos. The ocean was simply space, empty, and devoid of life. It was where the gods went to conduct their experiments, without fear of affecting anyone. It is where we went without fear of affecting anyone.
Purpose / Function
The original Mortal Ones created their Temple for an unknown purpose, though It is believed that it was so that they could avoid the eye of the Creators that brought them to Pallet. Residents believe that they had worked here in secret to devise their own creations outside of the influence of the Creators.
Alterations
An ancient magic engulfs the facility, making it similar to its own pocket dimension. Hallways and rooms are said to change and shift on their own, opening new passages and closing off others. Those that travel and work within the halls say that the facility seems like it has a mind of its own, forcing people down halls and passages that will lead them to further discoveries and perils undiscovered by the current generation.
Architecture
The discovered areas appear to be mostly carved stone, mostly a black granite walls with marble floors. Pillars of basalt help support the structure.
Defenses
In addition to the shifting halls that create a labyrinth, a number of elaborate traps and puzzles guard many of the secrets and treasures hidden within the lab. These traps can range from fire geysers to spike traps. Most of them appear magical in nature, being triggered by forces long supporting the facility, and cannot be disabled except by the intended way.
Once a trap is disabled, even should that hall or passage be encountered again, it still remains deactivated. This suggests that the rooms and halls of the facility are moving around, rather than magically being formed.
There are some areas of the facility that appear to be closed off, suggesting the requirement of keys to pass through into them. The location of these keys are unknown and thus the contents of these rooms remain sealed, though it's believed that they are located outside of the Temple.
