Synthryx Conclave

A New Beginning

A newly formed settlement of dragonborn in Cyran's Helm, the Synthryx Conclave is a remnant of those that were cast out of their ancestral caverns in the Gordrad Mountains far to the north. The losing party of a coup in the Gordrad Conclave in 982 AW, the Synthryx were exiled and tasked with finding a new home.
The Synthryx wandered for a generation before they discovered the long forgotten nesting chamber of an ancient silver dragon. Her skull serves as the table over which matters concerning the entire conclave are discussed. Her nesting chamber now serves as the nesting chamber for the entire conclave and various other chambers have been carved from the rock surrounding it. The Conclave is comprised of nine clans. The Beryntolthropal, Delmirev, Esstyrlynn, Ghaalixirn, Imbixtellrhyst, Jharnthraxyn, Norixius, Verthisathurgesh, and Xephyrbahnor. Each clan performs it's function masterfully. Though nest-matrons of each clan raise children of all clans until the age of five in the Clutch.

Beryntolthropal

The scholars of the Conclave, the Berytolthropal call the Legendarium home. An expansive cavern carved into the higher reaches of the mountains. The Legendarium is dotted with libraries, laboratories, and arcane workshops. This is where new technologies to better the conclave as a whole are devised. The Beryntolthropal take their role as the foremost minds of the conclave seriously and are often bullied by other clans during the monthly Congregation.

Delmirev

The protectors of the conclave, the Delmirev are a formidable fighting force. Disciplined soldiers, well educated tacticians, and exceptionally difficult to overwhelm. The Delmirev handily repelled an incursion by the mountain orcs of the Howling Fangs in 1054 AW, earning them the respect of the orc clans and the Qerat'nar in the city below. The Castrum serves as Delmirev's home and the conclave's garrison.

Esstyrlynn

The Esstyrlynn are the smith and craftspeople of the conclave. The Arsenal is their home, where they construct the new tools of war that the Berytolthropal have devised. The Arsenal also produces all of the tools, weapons, armour, and clothes for the conclave. As such, the Esstyrlynn are treated well by most of the conclave. As a rule, the Esstyrlynn get on especially well with the Beryntolthropal and the Ghaalixirn due to how close they work together.

Ghaalixirn

The Ghaalixirn are the conclave's miners, woodcutters, and hunters of great beasts. The families of the Ghaalixirn gather the materials that the Esstyrlynn and Norixius use to build tools and structures within the caverns. The Hold is their home. A winding series of warehouses with little caves carved out in the tunnels between them. The Hold contains much of the resource wealth of the conclave.

Imbixtellrhyst

Clan Imbixtellrhyst are the record keepers. Maintaining notes and ledgers of all that comes and goes from the conclave. They make their home in the Midden, a mountain of paper, ink, and works in progress. However, they store their ledgers in the Legendarium with the Beryntolthropal. The Imbixtellrhyst account for the majority of Synthryx dragonborn that leave for a life of adventure or to see what life amongst the other races hold. They routinely return with records of the world outside, including maps and stories.

Jharnthraxyn

The conclave's diplomats, the Jharntharyx are polyglots one and all. They routinely leave the familiarity of the conclave to broker deals with cities and races outside the conclave's reach. As such, the Jharnthraxyn are the least numerous of the clans and have no permanent home in the conclave.

Norixius

The builders of the Synthryx, the Norixius dwell in the Hearth. A winding cavern that ever expands deeper. The Norixius are responsible for the expansions of all other caverns and have passed the art of carving a home from rock down the generations. The Norixius are best allied with the Ghaalixirn and Esstyrlynn. However, they often find they have more in common with the mountain dwarves of the Helm than their own kind.

Verthisathurgesh

The Granary is the home of this green-thumbed clan. The Verthisathurgesh are the farmers of the conclave, growing all manner of subterranean plants and expanding their fields to the mountainsides to gain a more varied diet. Though they farm much plant matter, the Verthisathurgesh are primarily herders. They get much of their meat from an odd subterranean lizard creature called a ghetherx, which is capable of regrowing limbs without much discomfort. This allows them to keep their people fed without sacrificing herd sizes.

Xephyrbahnor

The Xephybahnor are merchants, they trade resources with the cities that the Jharnthaxyn have brokered deals with. As such, their home is the Treasury. They are not much liked by any of the clans.
