Palar is a Post modern setting, inspired by Dungeons & Dragons 5e, X-Com, Valorant, Shadowrun, Pathfinder 2e, and many other games or systems. Palar is meant to be a highly customizable game, that allows for both players and Game Masters alike to express them selves in a slightly futuristic setting, while being more flavorful, and stylish then other systems in general. Palar is being built in a way to allow for a variety of game styles, such as punk, grunge, Futuristic, optimistic, pessimistic, and many more, while hosting a diverse way of customizing your character to be what you want them to be. Try varieties of combos by mix and matching classes, or mutations. Find out what you character does in their off time, or in their working lives with hobbies, and professions. Play as a min maxer, a role player, an explorer, or any other styles of play that have developed over the course of role playing games existence. And most importantly, play how you want to play. If you want to follow the rules as written, or ignore them almost completely, first make sure your in the right group to do so, then go wild.

Seemingly out of nowhere, strange detonations began to happen in the night sky round the world one day. No major damage occurred, and every country was at each others throats, blaming each other for attempting attacks during peaceful times. This is what sparked the second cold war, and unbenounced to the world at the time, the Pailing. After these strange explosions in the sky, children began to be born with strange characteristics globally. Some had the features of animals, while other glowed with dim light. Panic set in as every new child born seamed to have some strange mutation, only heightening the suspicion and espionage between nations. Ten years later, everyone began seeing young children developing even stranger abilities in the form of controlling elements, heightened physical abilities, and other strange an destructive powers. These children were treated in a variety of ways world wide, with some of the most common out comes being quarantine, studies of their powers, weaponization, and embargo, or outlaw of their kind. Fear had taken the world completely at this point, and many civil wars broke out within the next 20 years, and with the new found mutations and powers of the young adults, they where intense conflicts. 30 years later things have reached a relative peace, and normality has finally set in. However things could boil up again at any moment.
