The Hidden Ocean
The Hidden Ocean is a large ocean extending westward of The Old Realms. As over half of the western cost of the Old Realms is mountainous, specifically in regards to where the High Elves settled, the ocean was seemly hidden from view, and was hence named The Hidden Ocean.
The High Sea
The High Sea is all that extends Northward of the known world. The seas are named named not only for their "high" position on maps, but also for the high waves that rock the region. Due to the unruly waters, and the every-changing skies exploration of the High Seas and what lies beyond is difficult and often leads to ships being lost, never to be seen again. Very few explorers in the past several centuries have been willing to brave the High Seas.
The Central Sea
The Central Sea was once part of a singular continent in the Age of Creation. When Druul first discoverd Palanvaid, war broke out in the heavens, with the Celestial and Creation pantheons fighting over this world. Eventually in an explosion of power, Druul was killed, and a massive crater scarred her fall. The crater spanned the continent, causing water to flow into it. As the oceans seemed to lower, the crater was filled, leaving a new sea separating The Old Realms and The Eastern Edge.
The Vast Sea
The Vast Sea was once considered barely passable, and only a few treasure-hunters and privateers dared to hunt through the islands scattered across the sea. Since the discovery of The Grand Expanse, trade routes, using scattered islands as guides have populated and it has become a well-traveled ocean for trading.
The Endless Sea
The Endless Sea is a calm sea beyond the Grand Expanse, and is said to extend as far as one can travel. It is said that an Elder State explorer traveled eastward for three cycles and encountered nothing, was able to turn around and still find his way home due to the unshifted calmness of the sea.
The Freezing Seas
The Freezing Seas are large bodies of water that extend southward. They extend around and south of The Southen Reaches, but few have been able to travel far due to the chilling weather and constant freezing and thawing every dusk and dawn (respectively).
