The Dwarven Deeps are a large labyrinth of tunnels and networks far beneath Palanvaid, spanning across The Old Realms and The Eastern Edge. Many of the caverns were natural formations, and it is said that the Dwarves first evolved in these deep caverns. Since then, the dwarves and expanded upon these natural caverns, connecting them and mining out new regions.
300 years ago, the only entrances (The Dwarfgates) to The Deeps were sealed off mysteriously, and nobody has heard from anyone inside since. Many have assumed the worst, that everyone within is dead.
