The Soulless Mountains

The Rucsui Mountiains are large mountains bordering the Kingdom of Pacellum and the unknown world. Nothing that lies beyond those mountains is known and because of that, the myth of the Soulless Mountains was created. This myth, make like that of the Elf in The Mist is used to scare people, especially children, away from the area.   The myth of the Soulless Mountains starts with the story of a fallen god, the Shuch, before the creation of Earth and before they fell from the King's grace. This god was first the good of darkness, tasked with covering the universe in nothing but. Once the Earth was created and the Pheonix brought the sun to bath the world's creations in light, the Shuch grew bitter and resentful. All gods took roles that countered his and he grew more and more resentful until one day battle irrupted between the gods.   The Shuch, barely losing, fled to Earth taking his darkness with him to embed into the hearts of all creatures on Earth. Today the people refer to him as the Forsaken or the empty god (Black Shuch) who is the face of death and attempts to lead humans down a dark path out of revenge for being exiled and not included as a great god.   The place this god fled in believed to be the Rucsui Mountiains and all land past the apex is bathed in darkness. Anywho can survive the harsh temperatures and storms will be met with the face of death and be forced to look into the heart of darkness and despair.   The name of the myth, the Soulless Mountain, is from the legend that all who step onto the mountain sacrifice their souls to the god without one and will be forever cursed to wander the mountain for eternity, never able to escape because only those with souls are fortunate enough to be bathed in light.
