Quill of the Archivist
History
The Quill of the Archivist is said to be a quill made from a tail feather of the goddess Lakionma. Enchanted by her to be able to take notes of its own accord, it is unclear if it possesses some measure of sentience or if it simply writes down whatever the goddess says. It was created by Lakionma shortly after her ascension to aid her in her new role as the Chronicler of History. Imitators have attempted to recreate it but the method of enchantment to get a self-writing quill are currently unknown to the world unless the goddess decides to share its secret. What exactly the quill looks like remains a mystery, some say it has no physical form, or that it is starlight manifested. Some say it is from a divine bird or that it is simply an overinflation of a simple object. The official statement by The Lakaenum is that Lakionma's tail feathers are pitch black with snowy white bands, and residing in the Celestial Realm, it is not unreasonable to presume her tail feathers may gather stardust giving it a unique glow. So a white-banded, black quill glimmering with starlight is considered the official appearance of the quill.
Significance
Being a possession of the Goddess of Scholars and History, it is imbued with divine energy and is a holy symbol for Lakionma's followers. Additionally, the quill is said to be very powerful, if such a quill ever came into the hands of mortals the consequences could be catastrophic. Legend says that histories can be rewritten through the quill and the possessor will achieve divinity.
