Lair of a Citrine Dragon
Citrine dragons often find their lairs in the valleys of mountains, sculpting rock with powerful claws, and occasionally forcing weaker beings to do it for them. Confident, perhaps overly so, in their strength. The entrance to their lairs is often wide and leads directly to a large main chamber that has its borders shrouded in shadow. Unlike other dragons, citrine dragons have relatively small lairs consisting of a main chamber, a sleeping chamber, the hoard chambers, an exit tunnel, and all the tunnels that connect the chambers. Exit tunnels typically come out on the top of a ridge from the sleeping chamber, allowing citrine dragons to make a swift escape if need be. The hoard chambers of a citrine dragon are most interesting, as they are composed of one main chamber and four smaller chambers branching up or down from the main one. Only the main hoard chamber is guaranteed to be free of traps, the subsidiary chambers may or may not be full of simplistic traps concocted by citrine dragons. Typically spike pits, gelatinous cubes, and minions of the citrine dragon.
The land surrounding a citrine dragon's lair is often barren and desolate in a 10 mile radius so that the citrine dragon may be the only beautiful thing within its home territory. Their territories often extend for another 10 or so miles beyond that which serves as their hunting ground.
