Durgix of Chrome (durr-gicks)
Durgix of Chrome, the draconic deity of chrome dragons. While dragons do not follow a strict religion like normal humanoids might, they do respect Durgix as their creator. When Durgix came to Oxerune, alongside his sibling draconic deities Lothorix and Palarix, he found a fledgling world where the first of his kind might thrive. From Durgix of Chrome came the dragons pitch, flame, forest, ivory, and navy. He imbued each with powers unique to them that they would pass on to future generations. To the pitch dragons, he gave them acid that drips from their maw, and an inherent eloquence unmatched by others. He pulled from the blackest nights for the scales, and in their eyes he put a piece of his scales. To the flame dragons he gave them the fire that burns within, and a forthrightness to direct their flame. For them he took fire itself and filled their bellies with it, coloring their scales to that red-hot hue. From fallen leaves he took their eyes and turned them into gold. Next to the forest dragons who were blessed with a poisonous breath he gave a sharp intuition to guide their path, letting them understand the world around them. Like their namesake Durgix pulled from the forest hues for their scales, and for their eyes he gathered the little purple flowers. To ivory dragons he gave a breath colder than the frozen mountain tops, and an alertness that surpasses even the snow's smothering silence. Ivory dragons had their scales taken from the snow and their eyes came from the ice. Finally, to the navy dragons, Durgix gave pure lightning to them that snaps between their scales cracks in a brilliant display, and a reflectiveness like the thundering rain that aligns with the storms that herald them. For the navy dragons their scales from the deepest oceans and that beautiful twilight where the sky is dark but still blue, and their eyes came from the cracking lightning's core, making them a brilliant white. Into eggs he put each new creation, before resting the clutches in what would be their first homes. Ivory dragons in the snowy vastness of mountains and the far north. Navy dragons amidst rocky crags near ocean storms. Forest dragons in the most vast lands with trees that would one day rival the mountains. Flame dragons found homes in mountains and volcanoes. Pitch dragons would be found anywhere the wind blows, but their first home, was in seaside caves. Each positioned so their first sight may be the gorgeous sunset. For Durgix desired his kind to know that the young world was full of beauty and life. A choice he would not yet know, would be crucial to the fledgling world's survival.
