Lucky Feather Day

The citizens of Varios have to deal with the Gods of Varios on a regular basis. It might be argued that they choose to do so since they live there, but that is neither here nor there. As such, they regularly run afoul of these entities and are occasionally required to undergo a kind of purification process to get rid of the bad influence.
This is known as a lucky feather day.
It is a ritual entirely devoted to regaining one's luck. Some people undertake it when they personally have the need, while in some rural places they will wait until the entire town is ready to have one all together.
While it can be quite expensive to host a lucky feather day, it doesn't necessarily need to be. The concept is that the person will invite those they deem to have good luck, and they will all then band together and retrieve as many lucky items as possible. The exact nature of these items will vary from person to person and place to place. Most people in Varios have a list particular to them that they develop from childhood.
These items are to be procured by any means necessary short of incurring bad luck, which will be on a separate and equally individualized list. Any funds required will usually be offered by the host of the day, since using someone else's money might give them the luck. The same does not apply to danger, so retrieving difficult objects is usually fair game.
The event runs from dawn to dusk, making it more efficient to host during the summer months. At the final drop of daylight, the participants gather and give the host all the tokens they've acquired.
