Great Purple Ice Mountain

While the people of Uncambel have a reputation for conformity and a focus on etiquette and rules, their geography does not. The main evidence comes of this from the Great Purple Ice Mountain (That Does Not Technically Exist According To Them), but since this title is rather long we mostly just call it Purple Ice Mountain, or PIM.
PIM is exactly what it sounds like. If there is rock, it is buried deep at the core of a rather large chunk of purple ice. It is mostly made of water, but there are some other compounds in there that defy most explanation. Probably magical considering the aesthetic of the country, but just as likely to be science.
The mountain is, as near as we can figure, naturally occurring. If it was originally created by something, we have no knowledge of this, and at this point it has been around for so long that I believe it would now qualify as existing naturally simply by virtue of not having melted. It's been thousands of years. There ought to be a qualifying measure for such things.
The mountain is shaped like its stone counterparts and can be mined similarly. The ice does tend to melt eventually once taken away from PIM, but it can take at least a year and probably more like a decade. Longer if taken somewhere like Ember Hollow with significant cold spells through the year.
It is very cold on the mountain, and around the mountain, and what few plant and animal species live in the area have adapted as such.
The color of the mountain is a magnificent deep purple, the likes of which has inspired poetry the world over. Once melted, the ice is a normal water color, although I would not recommend drinking it as such.
