Gore

Gore is as violent and blunt as his chosen name might suggest. It is not his birth name, because he was originally from Earth and people there do not name their children Gore. To be fair, most people in the Overlord people would not consider it as a name either, outside of Prazigal. Hard of hearing, his voice is stentorian and has been known to shatter some weaker windows.
He came to be an overlord late in life, already possessing a family. Normally this would be cause for divorce, especially considering Prazigal’s higher instance of psychotic breaks than any other country. His wife and two daughters all seem to enjoy explosions as much as he does, so this has never been an issue. It is unclear why Gore’s predecessor chose an unknown, uninitiated Earth human as his successor, but now that Gore is in power no one doubts the effectiveness of his rule
Gore and Dramonger were great friends while the latter lived, even if an external witness would not consider it to be so. They never came to actual physical blows, but their arguments raged long and loud and could often be heard by the inhabitants of the neighboring countries. And now he is a trusted advisor and mentor to Adam Winslow.
Gore is primarily known for his tactics in the “war” against Ember Hollow. Most of his predecessors tried tunneling under or through the walls, and this tactic in its predictability has become unfeasible. One tried shipping lava via portal, but this was quickly shut down. And since Ember Hollow is so isolated from the other countries, its air travel is strictly monitored and thus flying it in has never proved successful. Ever.
Using a physics degree that did not previously seem to have a point, Gore built a massive catapult and shot large chunks of lava over the wall. The slow fire rate didn’t matter because of the massive payload, and probably helped the thing remain secret a while longer because it is far more difficult to figure out the origin of an infrequent event as opposed to, say, a steady stream (which had already been tried). It took Ember Hollow a little over six weeks to find the catapult and shut it down, by which time it had fired hundreds of times and deposited enough hardened lava in the countryside to build seventeen average-sized castles.
Eventually, this tactic developed into the unit known as the Volcanologist Squad
