The Fall of the Crests. Recently, a handful of civil wars have broken out across the world, namely against many of the ruling 'Crest' families who have acted as monarchies, ruling over vast swathes of the world. The only remaining major Crest family is the Consioers in Whitecrest, and their rule remains law with little evidence of rebellion.

Demons rampaging through towns and cities, dragons scorching landscapes, devils meddling in mortal affairs. All of this, and more, has been happening more and more. Many high-ranking members of Magocracies in the world have said that it is just coincidence and happenstance, though even amateur users of the arcane can tell you that arcane leylines are being tampered with and weakened, and the barriers between the world are waning.

Good things come in threes, and with sea levels rising across the world, storms becoming more common and more damaging, and temperature disparities becoming greater, the world steadily falls into chaos as the very elements of the world seem to be turning hostile. Farms and towns are being wiped off the map. Food shortages dot the landscape, famine and plague fill Crestfall, and more. Tensions are rising, refugees fill cities to the brim, market prices fluctuate like never before.
