Swarthûs

The village hall of Zwartterp, where the village leadership resides and makes their decisions. Due to its distrust of its own residents, no residents are allowed to enter except for during special occasions. Even guards are not allowed to enter, and during special events only the central hall is open to the public.
The town leadership resides in the Swarthûs, with meeting rooms on the ground floor, bedrooms and kitchen on the first floor, food storage in the attic, and bathrooms and non-perishable storage in the basement. The attic also contains hidden armories, and the basement has secret escape passages. Each bedroom is shared by four people, as the leaders don't even trust each other.
Every few weeks, village elders are called in for meeting with the village leadership. Asides from that, most residents only get to enter the Swarthûs during the coming-of-age ceremonies that take place during the summer solstice and winter solstice. Because they only ever enter the central hall, this hall is synonym for the Swarthûs for them. Anyone caught trying to sneak in, will be interrogated under suspicion of treason.
