Gerbera Garden

Located at the very center of Gerbera City, the Gerbera Garden is the city's flower garden. It distinguishes itself from the other cities their gardens in its layout, which is heavily focused on eternal movement and smaller Gladioli circles. Its architecture features many hedge tunnels and gazebos, making shadow a key point of its design.   Gerbera City lies furthest sunwards of all five cities of the First City megacity. This means its shadows are the shortest of all cities. However, even then the unmoving sun has a significant impact on how plants grow, with many Earth plants not handling a single solar direction well.   To compensate for this, rather than carefully trimming, most of the Gerbera Garden rotates. It takes moving parts 36 hours for a full rotation. Its outer layers are located on a circle-shaped rail, while in its center many smaller disks spin around. Between these are grass fields, paths, and fountains, with paths connecting larger and smaller gazebos.   As an artistic touch, the layout of the Gerbera Garden resembles the First City, with large gazebos and other buildings representing the towns that form the five cities. The rivers and lakes are represented in the form of ponds and brooks, the paths represent the railroads and highways that connect all parts of civilization.   Rather than one large Gladioli circle, like the other four city flower gardens, the Gerbera Garden has one smaller circle in each 'city' center, and another in the 'First City' center. These Gladioli circles also rotate, which causes them to grow better than the larger ones in other cities.
